(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intend to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on the following sections of highways in Belford in the County of Northumberland.
Phase 1:
B6349 High Street from its junction with Meadowgarth heading in a south easterly direction for a length of 108 metres.
It is expected that the road will be closed from the 8th November 2024 until the 6th December 2024 and that it will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the B6349, C60, A1 and vice-versa.
Phase 2:
B1342 Belford Station to Belford from its junction with South Road heading in an easterly direction for a length of 387 metres.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the B6349, C60, A1 and vice-versa.
It is expected that the road will be closed from the 7th December 2024 until the 24th January 2025 and that it will be closed at all times during this period.
The road will be reopened to accommodate the Christmas period in Phase 2 between 20th December 2024 and 6th January 2025.
The Order is to be effective from the 8th November 2024 until the 4th April 2025.

The closure has been requested by Cheviot Plant Hire to install sewage and storm pipes in the carriageway. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
