What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK 

 ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1)

(Carver Road, Cole Street, Gilkes Crescent, Great Suffolk Street, Grosvenor Park, Janeway Street, Manor Grove, Melford Road, Rotherhithe New Road, Strathnairn Street, Loftie Street, Bermondsey Wall East)

 (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)      

1. The Council of the London Borough of Southwark hereby gives notice that to enable various works to be carried out, it made, an order, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicular traffic from entering part of the above named roads.
2. Whilst the works are in progress, or whilst the authorised traffic signs/road markings are displayed, no person shall cause any vehicle to enter, proceed, stop, wait, load or unload at any time in:
(a) Carver Road, between Herne Hill and outside and opposite No’s 36/57 (b) Cole Street, between No’s 28, located between Swan Street and Globe Street (c) Gilkes Crescent, between Calton Avenue and No’s 55 (d) Great Suffolk Street, outside the Hilton Hotel between Southwark Street and Lavington Street. (e) Grosvenor Park, between Grosvenor Terrace and it’s blocked end (f) Janeway Street, between Emba Street and Scott Lidgett Crescent (g) Manor Grove, at it’s junction with Hatcham Road  (h) Melford Road, between Wood Vale and Underhill Road (i) Rotherhithe New Road, between Raymouth Road to western side of it’s junction with Jarrow Road (j) Strathnairn Street, between Beatrice Road and St James (k) Loftie Street, at it’s junction with Bermondsey Wall East (l) Bermondsey Wall East, between Loftie Street and Fountain Green Square
3. The alternative routes for affected traffic for will be as indicated by the signs displayed.
4. The existing ‘one-way’ working in Loftie Street will be made ‘two-way’ for access and egress purposes for (2k) 
5. Exemptions will be provided in the Order to permit reasonable access to premises, so far as it is practical without interference with the execution of the said works.
6. The restrictions will not apply to any vehicle being used in connection with the said works, or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes or anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
7. The works will be in operation for (2a) 28th – 31st October (2b) 28th October – 22nd November (2c) 25th October – 2nd November (2d) 28th October – 1st November (2e) 30th October (2f) 28th October – 1st November (2g) 30th October – 22nd November (2h) 28th – 30th October (2i) 29th October – 2nd November (2j) 25th October (2k) 28th October – 20th December (2l) 28th October – 20th December
