What is happening?

Manchester City Council 

Temporary Road Traffic Regulation Order road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 14 (As Amended)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s) :

ORDER NO. MCC140554256 : The City of Manchester (Sparta Walk & Stopley Walk, Clayton & Openshaw Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrian Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 

The effect of the Order is to prohibit pedestrian traffic on Sparta Walk & Stopley Walk. The alternative routes for pedestrian traffic will be: Mill Street, Fastnet Street, Herne Street. 

The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate new Newtork cable installation. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 18th October 2024 to 24th October 2024. 

The order shall come into operation on 18th October 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of six months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. 

ORDER NO. MCC140572383 : The City of Manchester (The Boulevard, Didsbury West Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on The Boulevard from the junction of Clearwater Drive to the roundabout. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Georgia Avenue, Clearwater Drive. 

The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate new sewer connection. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 21st October 2024 to 15th November 2024. 

The order shall come into operation on 21st October 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
