Lake District, Temporary Footpath Closure Due To Tree Felling Works
What is happening?

AUTHORITY PUBLIC PATH NOTICE PART OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH 407042, LING MELL PLANTATIONS, ENNERDALE AND KINNISIDE PARISH TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS GIVEN that under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Lake District National Park Authority has made an order dated 10 October 2024. The effect of the order is to prohibit all public traffic for all purposes from proceeding over part of Footpath 407042 at Ling Mell Plantations, Ennerdale and Kinniside Parish, namely the section between NY 1360 1273 and NY 1339 1380, to enable Forestry England to carry out tree felling and extraction to comply with a Statutory Plant Health Notice.
The notice and plan showing the route concerned may be inspected during normal office or opening hours at the National Park Authority, Wayfaring House, Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road, Kendal, LA9 7RL; at Cumberland Council Customer Services, Market Hall, Market Square, Whitehaven, CA28 7JG; and at Cleator Moor Post Office, Cumbrian Co-op Store, 76 Leconfield Street, Cleator Moor, CA25 5PX; and online at www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/rowclosures.
The order will take effect on 21 October 2024 and will continue in force for six months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the earlier. When works are taking place, signs will be erected showing the closed path and the alternative routes. If the works have not been completed it may be extended for a further period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
