What is happening?
South Gloucestershire Council
(Swan Lane, Winterbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Swan Lane which extends from Green Lane to High Lane. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon joint box access and cabling works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 24 Octobe 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am to 3:30pm.
Alternative route : Swan Lane (parts unaffected), Old Gloucester Road,
Beacon Lane, High Street and vice versa.
(Old Gloucester Road and Alexander Road, Frenchay) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon surfacing works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 21 October 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration.
Schedule : 1. Old Gloucester Road – from Bristol Road northwards for 50m; 2. Alexander Road – from Bristol Road south eastwards for 25m.
Alternative route (vice versa) : 1. Old Gloucester Road, Bristol Road; 2. Frenchay Park Road, Begbrook Park.
(Coniston Road, Patchway) (No.2) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Coniston Road which extends from Water Side Drive north westwards for 80m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon gas main upgrade works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 21 October 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration.
Alternative route : Windermere Road, Pretoria Road, Bradley Road and vice versa.
(Public Footpath POL/12/20, Warmley) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers that length of Public Footpath POL/12/20 which extends from the entrance of POL/12/20 to POL/12/10. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon the removal and replacement of existing bridge. The order will be operative from 11 November 2024 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 months duration.
Alternative route : follow signed diversion.
(Unnamed Access Road to Warmley Park School, Warmley) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Unnamed Access Road to Warmley Park School which extends from Footpath POL/12/10 eastwards for 50m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon the removal and replacement of existing bridge on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 11 November 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 year duration.
Alternative route : proceed north on Tower Road North to its junction with A420 High Street. Left turn (west) along A420 onto Deanery Road to its junction with Baden Road. Left turn (south) into Baden Road, then left turn into new un-named road across existing playing fields (newly constructed road by South Gloucester Council).
(Cloisters Road, Winterbourne) (No.2) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Cloisters Road which extends from Factory Road south eastwards for 50m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with lead replacement works. The order will be operative from 11 November 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration.
Alternative route : Nicholls Lane, High Street, Watleys End Road, Factory Road and vice versa.
(Hicks Avenue, Emersons Green) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Hicks Avenue which extends from Hill Close to Emerson Way. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with tarmac defect repair works. The order will be
operative from 12 November 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen
months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am and 3:30pm.
Alternative route : Thomas Avenue, Emerson Way and vice versa.
(Poskett Way and Midland View, Charfield) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 202(-)
Details of the proposed changes
NOTICE is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council proposes to make an order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles waiting at any time in lengths of Poskett Way and Midland View, Charfield. Exemptions in the order permit any vehicle to wait for the purpose of boarding or alighting; loading or unloading goods; delivering postal packets; maintenance of the road; supply of gas, water or electricity; the pursuance of statutory powers or duties; taking in petrol, oil, water or air from any garage; weddings or funerals and in accordance with the current provisions for vehicles displaying a disabled person’s badge. (A38 Gloucester Road North, Bolingbrook Way and Runway Avenue, Filton) (Prohibition of Left and Right Turns) (Prohibition Of U Turns) Order 202(-)
Details of the proposed changes
NOTICE is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council proposes to make an order under sections 1(1) and 2(1) to (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended the effect of which will be to :
a) prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the carriageways in lengths of A38 Gloucester Road North, Bolingbroke Way and Runway Avenue, Filton specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice from making a ‘U’ turn so as to proceed in the opposite direction in relation to that carriageway of that length of road.
b) prohibit any vehicle proceeding in lengths of Bolingbroke Way and Runway Avenue, Filton specified in column 1 of Schedule 2 to this Notice from making a left turn into the road specified in relation to that road in column 2 of the said Schedule; and
c) prohibit any vehicle proceeding in lengths of A38 Gloucester Road North, Filton specified in column 1 of Schedule 3 to this Notice from to making a right turn into the road specified in relation to that road in column 2 of the said Schedule. Exemptions are contained in the order for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes. The locations at the A38/Bolingbrook Way junction are proposed to be enforced using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras.

2. A38 Gloucester Road North, Filton (northbound) – that length of the northbound carriageway at its junctions with Bolingbroke Way and Runway Avenue.
3. A38 Gloucester Road North, Filton (southbound) – that length of the southbound carriageway at its junctions with Bolingbroke Way and Runway Avenue.
4. Runway Avenue, Filton – that length of the eastbound carriageway which extends from, and including its junction with A38 Gloucester Road North.
