A5036 Trunk Road - Temporary Restriction And Prohibition Of Traffic For Sefton Maritime Corridor Scheme Works

THE A5036 TRUNK ROAD (DUNNINGS BRIDGE ROAD EASTBOUND AND WESTBOUND CARRIAGEWAYS)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the A5036 Trunk Road, in the Borough of Sefton, in the County of Merseyside, to enable Sefton Maritime Corridor Scheme works by the Sefton Local Authority to be carried out in safety.

The Order will on the following sections of the A5036 Trunk Road:

i. impose a 30 mph speed limit the eastbound and westbound carriageways, from the Park Lane Junction, to the Netherton Road Junction;

ii. ban all traffic from the eastbound and westbound carriageways, (as described at i. above);

iii. ban all traffic from entering or leaving the Atlantic Park Drive Junction, (access will be maintained throughout the work);

iv. ban all traffic from entering or leaving the central reserve junction adjacent to the Atlantic Park Drive Junction on Dunning Bridge Road;

v. ban all cyclists and pedestrians, from the cycleway and footway including the pedestrian crossing point adjacent to the eastbound and westbound carriageways (as described at i. above);

vi. the bus stop layby on the eastbound carriageway, located 40 metres east of the Atlantic Park Junction;

vii. the bus stop layby on the westbound carriageway, located 40 metres west of the Atlantic Park Junction. Restriction i. and prohibitions iii. - vi. are expected to be in place during a continuous period starting at 00:01 on Monday 11November 2024 and ending at 00:01 on Friday 12 December 2025.

Prohibition ii. is expected to be in place overnight between 21:30 and 05:30 during a period starting on Monday 3 March 2025 and ending on Saturday 8 March 2025.

However, works may start and continue during subsequent continuous periods, until completed or between the same times on subsequent nights, until completed.

Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the A5036 Trunk Road and local roads will be well signed for all traffic, pedestrians, and cyclists.

The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles, and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, or winter maintenance vehicles. The restrictions and prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs. The Order comes into force on 10 November 2024 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
