Kimpton Road, High Town Road - Temporary Road Closures
What is happening?
THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (VARIOUS ROADS)
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES) (No.19) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, on 14th October 2024 made the above Order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The Order will come into operation on 4th November 2024 for a period of 18 months or when the proposed works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. Specific dates and times will be signed locally. The Order will therefore be in operation during such date and time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs, barriers or cones.
The effect of the Order will allow the Council to close to vehicular traffic the following roads and lengths of roads:
● Kimpton Road from its junction with Loverose Way to its junction with the roundabout at Vauxhall Gate 2. Diversion route via Windmill Road, Gypsy Lane, New Airport Way, Kimpton Road. Anticipated dates and times of closures 4th November 2024 to 7th November 2024, 9pm to 6am.
● High Town Road from its junction with Oxen Road to its junction with Winch Street. Diversion route via High Town Road, Hitchin Road, Jubilee Street, High Town Road. Anticipated date and times of closure 11th November 2024, 9:30am to 3:30pm.
The Order is intended to create a window for the works to be done and it is anticipated that the works will be completed over a period as described above. The purpose of the Order is to enable BT Openreach contractors to carry out essential telecom works and telegraph pole replacement works. Access will be maintained as best as possible to properties where this may be done safely whilst such works are being carried out and diversions for traffic where available will be marked by signs.
