Temporary Road Closure Of A48 From Elton To High Street Newnham (Westbury On Severn Parish) Forest Of Dean District

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the A48 Road, from Elton to High Street Newnham, and from the Quay Lane junction to The Strood junction, for a distance of approximately 30 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for bridge inspection works.

The said road is expected to be closed from 21:00hrs on 3rd November 2024 until 05:00hrs on 4th November 2024 only or until the works have been completed. For further information, please contact Gloucestershire Highways on 08000 514 514 or visit www.gloucestershire.gov.uk.

Alternative Route as signed on site. Emergency access, and pedestrian access to adjacent properties, will be maintained.

Temporary Road Closure Of C9 Road From Junction With Stowe  Road To Junction With Lower Meend
(St Briavels Parish)
Forest Of Dean District

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C9 Road, from its junction with Stowe Road to the junction with Lower Meend, and from its junction with Stowe Road, to its junction with Mork Road, for a distance of approximately 1230 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for water apparatus repair and maintenance works.

The said road is expected to be closed from 6th November 2024 until 8th November 2024 only or until the works have been completed. For further information, please contact Gloucestershire Highways on 08000 514 514 or visit www.gloucestershire.gov.uk.

Temporary Closure Of 400239 Foxs Lane
(Coleford Town) Forest Of Dean District

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 400239 Foxs Lane Road from its junction with South Road to 28 metres eastwards, for a total distance of approximately 28 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for works to provide new ducting in the footway and carriageway.

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 400055 Upper Road adjacent to the property known as ‘Hawthorns Cottage’, for a distance of approximately 20 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for Severn Trent Water works.

Temporary Closure Of 400370 Barrel Lane
(Longhope Parish) Forest Of Dean District

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 400370 Barrel Lane from its junction with the A40 to the ‘Access Road’ outside of the property known as ‘The Old Farm’ for an approximate distance of 290 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for works by National Highways to install bridge warning and speed limit signage.

Emergency Closure Of Footpath Fly 39 (Lydney Town) Forest Of Dean District

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has extended the Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of Public Footpath FLY 39 from its junction with Lakeside Avenue extending in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 335 metres. The said Public Footpath falls within Lydney Town in the Forest of Dean District within the County of Gloucestershire;

The said closure is necessary to safeguard the public during the construction of a residential development.

The said Public Footpath originally closed for 21 days by Emergency Notice commencing 9th May 2022. However, works to remedy the problem had not been completed during this period and it was necessary to close the Public Footpath by an Order authorising closure for up to six months from when the Footpath was closed initially by Emergency Notice. It was anticipated the said Public Footpath would be closed until 9th December 2022. However, it was not possible to complete the

works within the current timescale, and therefore the Secretary of State granted an extension until 30th November 2024. The works to the said Public Footpath are still not complete and the Secretary of State has now granted a further extension until 30th May 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.

Alternative Routes – There is no alternative route. Emergency and pedestrian access to adjoining premises is to be maintained.

The reason for the said closure is for Ash Tree dieback removal works. The said road is expected to be closed from 4th November 2024 until 8th November 2024 only or until the works have been completed. The reason for the closure is for works by National Highways to remove and install bridge height and speed limit signage.
