What is happening?
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C923 CHURCH ROAD, ELLOUGH
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C923 Church Road, Ellough from the junction with Hulver Road for 50 metres southbound to facilitate replacing a damaged telecommunication pole. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Church Road, Hulver Road, Hulver Street, Jays Hill Road, Church Road, Willingnam St Mary and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on16/10/2024 from 8am - 6pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to First Call Traffic Management. Tel: (01707) 244593.
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U4540 WINDERMERE ROAD. ST MARYS ROAD AND SILVERDALE AVENUE, STOWMARKET
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:
- U4540 Windermere Road, Stowmarket from St Peters Road to St Marys Road
- U4540 St Marys Road, Stowmarket
- U4540 Sifverdale Avenue, Stowmarket from the junction with St Marys Road to Lydgate Road.
This is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place durng this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Lydgate Road, Curwen Road, Recreation Road, Chilton Avenue, Windermere Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 16710/2024 -18/10/2024 from 8am - 6pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Suffolk Highways. Tel: 0345 606 6171.
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U1519 REEDS BUILDINGS, BURY ST EDMUNDS
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U1519 Reeds Buildings, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with Norrhgate Street for 10 metres eastbound to facilitate repairs to a chimney stack. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Cotton Lane, Mark Jennings Lane, Northgate Street and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 16/10/2024 - 30/10/2024 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Plan B Scaffolding. Tel: (01284) 811444.
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C693 THURSTON ROAD, C692 THURSTON ROAD AND C693 NEW ROAD, THURSTON AND ROUGHAM
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases: 1. C693Thurston Road, Thurston 2.
- C692 Thurston Road, Rougham from The Round House to the Junction with Beyton Road, Thurston
- C693 New Road, Rougham from the junction with Thurston Road to Rougham Estates.
This is to facilitate the construction of new ties into carriageway and resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion routes will be:
1. Thurston Road, Beyton Road and vice versa.
2. Beyton Road. Thurston Road, The Green, Bury Road, the A14, the A124 Junction 45, Sow Lane, Mount Road and no vice versa
- Mount Road, Sow Lane, the A14, the A14 Junction 46, Thurston Road, Beyton Road and no vice versa
- New Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 1.25/10/2024- 18/11/2024 2.18/11/2024-30/11/2024.
If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C324 PLAYFORD ROAD, CULPHO
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C324 Playfbrd Road, Culpho from the junction with Butts Road to Cufpho Hall to facilitate fibre installation works Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Playfbrd Mount, the road from the C323 to the C324, Ipswich Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 16/10/2024 - 22/10/2024 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to ABC Telecoms Ltd. Tel: 07498 904219.
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE C334 DOCK FARM ROAD, TUNSTALL
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C334 Dock Farm Road, Tunstall to facilitate repairing road damage caused by badgers. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will tie available for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the B1069, SchoofRoad, Dock Farm Road and vice versa.
This order continues in force the emergency measures operating since 26/09/2024.
It is intended that the closure will operate until 24/03/2025, but if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Suffolk Highways. Tel: 0345 606 6171.
