(AMENDMENT NO.9) ORDER 2024
NOTICE OF MAKING
Cheney Close, Chute Close, Edwin Road, Hoath Lane, Mierscourt Road, Nightingale Close,, Queendown Avenue, Sandringham Road access rds (rear of Nos.616 & 618 Mierscourt Rd) Station Road (Lower Rainham Rd end), Taswell Road, Tudor Grove, Wakeley Road
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council on 15 October 2024 made the above- mentioned Orders under sections 1, 2, 4 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the 1984 Act’), as amended. The general effect of the Amendment Orders, which becomes operational on 21 October 2024 will be to introduce or amend lengths of No Waiting (single or double yellow lines) in the roads in Rainham as detailed below:
1) Cheney Close – (a) North-east side, 6.6m south-eastwards from Queendown Avenue junction, (b) South-east side, 7.2m north-eastwards from Queendown Avenue junction;
2) Chute Close – South-east side, 22.5m on the corner and rear of No.7 Culpepper Road, adjacent to the electricity substation;
3) Edwin Road – East side, 10.8m single yellow line operating Mon-Fri 8am-6pm southwards from the junction of London Road (A2), adjacent to No.281 London Road;
4) Hoath Lane – West side, 33.8m northwards from the junction of Woodside, outside Nos. 44-30 (including Hoath Mews);
5) Mierscourt Road – North-west side, a 10m extension north-eastwards and a 5m extension south-westwards of the junction of Nightingale Close;
6) Nightingale Close – (a) South side, a 57.2m extension westwards from the junction of Mierscourt Road, outside Nos. 1-7 to the access road between Nos.7 & 9, (b) North-east side, 16m on the corner by No.2 (junction with north-south section), (c) North-west side, 10m on the corner by No.26 (junction with north-south section).
7) Queendown Avenue – East side, 5.8m northwards and 12m southwards of the junction of Cheney Close;
8) Sandringham Road access roads, rear of Nos.616 and 618 Mierscourt Road – (a) South-west side, 7m on the corner junction at the rear of No.1 Burnham Walk, (b) North-west side, 7m on the corner junction at the rear of 6 Sandringham Road.
9) Station Road – North-west side, a 17m length north-eastwards from No.4 Bennetts Cottages, in front of Forge Court to just past the dropped kerb access to the rear of the public house;
10) Taswell Road – North-west side, a 9.5m single yellow line operating “No waiting” Mon-Fri 9am-3pm outside No.39-41;
11) Tudor Grove – (a) North-west side, 16.3m across Nos.31-33 dropped kerbs, (b) South-west side, 8.4m from No.34’s dropped kerb to the existing single yellow line;
12) Wakeley Road – North-west side (a) 30.1m single yellow line operating “No waiting” Mon-Fri 9am-3pm from partway outside No.159 to opposite No.160, (b) 14.7m single yellow line operating “No waiting” Mon-Fri 9am-3pm outside No.157.
Copies of the Order and of other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order can be requested by sending an email to parkingdesign@medway.gov.uk or by writing to Parking Design team, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TR before the end of a period of six weeks from the date on which the Order was
made.
Persons wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the 1984 Act or any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
