What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(HATHERLOW, ROMILEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Hatherlow, from Bunkers Hill to Green Lane whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said roads. This Order is necessary because resurfacing works are being, or are proposed to be executed. It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the works will be 5 nights. Alternative routes will be provided via :- Diversion 1 (West) - Barrack Hill, Berrycroft Lane, Higher Bents Lane, Lower Bents Lane, Stockport Road West, New Bridge Lane, St Mary’s Way, Hall Street, Offerton Lane, Marple Road and Vice Versa. Diversion 2 - Overdale Road, Beacon Road, Powicke Drive, The Ridgeway, Bredbury Green and Vice Versa. This Order is to come into operation on the 25 October 2024 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
