Birkacre Road And Butterworth Brow - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway, in the borough of Chorley:
i) Butterworth Brow, Chorley from its junction with B5252 Yarrow Valley Way, for a distance of 200 metres.
ii) Birkacre Road, Chorley with its junction with Butterworth Brow, for a distance of 92 metres.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 1900 hours on Thursday 17th October 2024 until 0400 hours on Friday 18th October 2024 or until completion of the works within this period. This is an overnight closure.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
B5252 Yarrow Valley Way – B5251 Coppull Road – Birkacre Road – Coppull Hall Lane – Green Lane – Coppull Moor Lane – A49 Preston Road and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to facilitate in ENW vegetation management works to be carried out.
