A142 Fordham Road - Temporary Closure For Resurfacing Works

What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A142 FORDHAM ROAD, NEWMARKET

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the A142 Fordham Road, Newmarket from Fairstead House School for 170 metres southbound to facilitate resurfacing works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

• the A142, the A11, the A1304 and vice versa
• the A1304, the B1506, the A14, the A142 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 9.30pm on 25/10/2024 until 5am on 26/10/2024 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
