What is happening?

DERBY CITY COUNCIL

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER

Derby City Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit use of the roads by traffic.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON NIGHTINGALE ROAD DERBY

WHEN: 28 October 2024 to 03 November 2024

WHERE: Nightingale Road, from its junction with Hawthorn Street to its junction with Mowbray Street

REASON: Drainage works

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Nightingale Road – Mowbray Street – Osmaston Road – Nightingale Road and the same in the opposite direction AND Osmaston Road - Nightingale Road – Hawthorn Street – Abingdon Street – Addison Road – Nightingale Road and the same in the opposite direction

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON CASTLEWARD BOULEVARD SUSPENSION OF ONE WAY ORDER BETWEEN CANAL STREET AND JOHN STREET SUSPENSION OF ONE WAY ORDER BETWEEN LIVERSAGE STREET AND A LOCATION APPROXIMATELY 50 METRES EAST ALONG CASTLEWARD BOULEVARD, DERBY

WHEN: 28 October 2024 to 18 November 2024

WHERE: Castleward Boulevard, from its junction with John Street for a distance of approximately 55 metres

REASON: Drainage works

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Castleward Boulevard – Liversage Street – Siddals Road – Canal Street – Castleward Boulevard and the same in the opposite direction

TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE ORDER ON PRIDE PARK FOOTPATH, DERBY

WHEN: 04 November 2024 to 15 November 2024

WHERE: Footpath on the south side of A6 Pride Parkway between Station Approach Viaduct and Roundhouse Road (Derby College) A distance of approximately 350 metres.

REASON: Electric works

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Footpath on the north side of A6 Pride Parkway between Station Approach Viaduct and Riverside Road (David Lloyd Health Club)

(VICTORIA & ALBERT STREET AREA) (MOVING VEHICLE RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT TO MAP BASED SCHEDULE) (NO.58) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Derby City Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 9, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53 and part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III if schedule 9 to the 1984 Act proposes to make the following Order.

The purpose of the Order will be to introduce:

Proposed Prohibition of Right Turn for Motor Vehicles, Exemption 1 to replace existing No Left Turn for All Vehicles on St Peter’s Street at its junction with Albert Street. Cyclists will be exempt from this banned manoeuvre.

Proposed Prohibition of Right Turn for Motor Vehicles, Exemption 1 on Exchange Street at its junction with Albert Street. Cyclists will be exempt from this banned manoeuvre.

Proposed Prohibition of Left Turn for Motor Vehicles, Exemption 1 on the Corn Market at its junction with Albert Street to replace existing No Left Turn for All Vehicles. Cyclists will be exempt from this banned manoeuvre.

Proposed Prohibition of Left Turn for Motor Vehicles, Exemption 1 on St James Street at its junction with The Strand/Victoria Street to replace existing No Left Turn for All Vehicles. Cyclists will be exempt from this banned manoeuvre.

Revocation of the following restrictions on Victoria and Albert Street: Bus, Cycle and Hackney Carriages Only, on the Westbound side of Albert Street from its junction with Exchange Street to its junction with St Peter’s Street, and on the Eastbound side of Victoria Street from its junction with The Strand to its junction with Cornmarket.

Prohibition of driving of motor vehicles at all times except public service vehicles and hackney carriages, 5pm to 10am also access, on the Westbound side of Victoria Street from its junction with St Peter’s Street to its junction with The Strand, and on the Eastbound side of Albert Street from its junction with Cornmarket to its junction with Morledge.

To be replaced by: Proposed One Way For All Motor Vehicles, on Victoria Street and Albert Street, in a Westerly direction, from its junction with Morledge to its junction with The Strand. Cyclists will be exempt from this one way restriction.

Proposed contraflow Mandatory Cycle Lane on Victoria Street and Albert Street, in an Easterly direction from its junction with The Strand to its junction with Morledge.

Objections to the proposals stating your grounds of objection should be sent, in writing, to Traffic & Transportation, Communities and Place, Derby City Council, The Council House, Corporation Street, Derby, DE1 2FS or by email to traffic.management@derby.gov.uk to be received no later than 1st November 2024.
