(Moorland Road Ashton In Makerfield)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2024 Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Moorland Road Ashton in Makerfield) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Moorland Road Ashton in Makerfield during the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 on 16/12/2024.
The alternative route for traffic is: Diane Road and Linkway Avenue.
The Order is necessary to allow to facility plant delivery.
(Moss Road Billinge)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2024 Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Moss Road Billinge) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Moss Road Billinge for a period of three days commencing on 10/12/2024.
The alternative route for traffic is: Tracks Lane and Greenslate Road.
The Order is necessary to allow a new water connection.
(Spring Road Orrell) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024
Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Spring Road Orrell) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Spring Road Orrell commencing on 02/11/2024 to 17/11/2024.
The alternative route for traffic is: Gathurst Road, Orrell Road, City Road, Bell Lane and Prescott Lane. The Order is necessary to allow a new water connection.
(Wallgate Wigan, At Railway Bridge)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2024 Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Wallgate Wigan, at Railway Bridge) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Wallgate Wigan, at Railway Bridge during the period of five days commencing on 20/01/2025 to 24/01/2025 between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00 only.
The alternative route for traffic is: Frog Lane, New Market Street, B5375 Northway, B5375 Powell Street, A49 Riverway, A49 Chapel Lane and A577 Caroline Street.
The Order is necessary to allow access/assessment of bridge.
(Glendale Road Worsley)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2024 Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Glendale Road Worsley) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Glendale Road Worsley on 10/12/2024.
The alternative route for traffic is: Mosley Common Road, Thornton Road, Gilda Road and Queens Close. The Order is necessary to allow PMV major service.
Redbrook Road, Ince – Proposed Prohibtion of Waiting Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Various Roads Wigan Borough) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.589) Order 2024.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:
• Redbrook Road, Ince (both sides) from its junction with Warrington Road to a point 10 metres northeast of its junction with Warrington Road.
There will be limited exceptions permitting vehicles to wait to enable people to board or alight; for the purpose of building and similar operations, removing obstructions to traffic, road works and works by statutory undertakers; for local authority, Water Companies and Post Office purposes; if the vehicles are fire service or police vehicles or ambulances, (liveried vehicles) or in connection with a funeral; to take on fuel, water or air at any garage; for the delivery or collection of goods and for loading or unloading; or the avoidance of an accident.
The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed.
A copy of the proposed Order, the Order to be amended, and of the relevant map and of a statement of the reasons for proposing to make the Order may be requested by emailing S.Eccles-Churton@wigan.gov.uk.
Any objection to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds thereof and must be made to the Assistant Director – Legal, Governance and Elections, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan or by emailing the above email address quoting reference RD/LS/SEC/ C108.1057 not later than 15th November 2024.
Wigan Borough(Standish No. 74 (Part) And No. 75 (Part) (Temporary Closure ) Order 2024
Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Standish No. 74 (part) and 75 (part)) (Temporary Closure) Order.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person, except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable, from using public footpath Standish No. 74 from Point A shown on the Order Map at grid reference 355268 408158, to Point B at its junction with public footpath Standish No. 75 as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 355254 408021 for a distance of approximately 138 metres in a generally southerly direction.
And public footpath Standish No. 75 from Point C at its junction with Wigan Lower Road as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 355080 407965, to Point D as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 355404 408090 for a distance of approximately 353 metres in a generally northeasterly direction.
An alternative route is available via the public rights of way network and Princess Road that links with Wigan Lower Road.
This public footpath will be closed for a period of five weeks commencing on 28th October 2024 to safeguard the public whilst work is undertaken to cap a mine shaft.
