What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

MAIDSTONE AREA

A20 Terrace Road, Maidstone, ME16 0DZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow manhole works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A20 Terrace Road, Maidstone, on or after 7th November 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of A26 Tonbridge Road to the junction of A20 London Road, between the hours 23:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A20 London Road, B2246 Hermitage Lane, B2246 Fountain Lane, A26 Tonbridge Road and vice versa.

 

A249 Detling Hill & A249 Sittingbourne Road, Stockbury (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A249 Detling Hill & A249 Sittingbourne Road, Stockbury, on or after 8th November 2024 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the southbound direction from Stockbury Roundabout to Pilgrims Lodge, between the hours of 20:00 and 04:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Non-Motorway through traffic is via A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Sittingbourne Road Slip to A2, A2 Keycol Hill, A2 Boyces Hill, A2 High Street, A2 London Road, A2 Hartlip Hill, A2 London Road, A2 Moor Street, A2 High Street, A2 London Road, A2 Bowater Roundabout, A2 Watling Road, A2 Rainham Road, A2 Chatham Hill, A2 New Road, Gibraltor Hill, A230 Maidstone Road, A230 Horsted Road, A229 Horsted Roundabout, A229 Maidstone Road, A229 Blue Bell Hill, A229 Chatham Road, A229 The Running Horse Roundabout, Sandling Lane, Penenden Heath Road, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Bearsted Road, A249 Newham Court Roundabout, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Interchange, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Hill.

The alternative route for any motorway through traffic is via A249 Stockbury Roundabout, A249 Slip road to M2, M2 Jct 5 to Jct 3, A229 Taddington Roundabout, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip Link Bridge, A229 Lord Lees Roundabout, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip Southbound, A229 Blue Bell Hill, A229 Chatham Road, M20 Jct 6 Slip Road to Jct 7, A249 Detling Interchange, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Hill.

 

B2162 Hampstead Lane, Nettlestead, ME18 6HL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow level crossing repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2162 Hampstead Lane, Nettlestead, on or after 9th November 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the Yalding Station level crossing, from 21:00 on 9th November 2024 to 02:00 on 11th November 2024. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2162 Hampstead Lane, Lees Road, Gravelly Ways, Beltring Road, A228 Branbridges Road, A228 Whetsted Road, A228 Branbridges Road, A228 Branbridges Ind Est Roundabout, A228 Hale Street By Pass, A228 Maidstone Road Roundabout, B2015 Maidstone Road, B2162 Hampstead Lane and vice versa.

 

Busbridge Road, Loose, ME15 0ES (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Busbridge Road, Loose, on or after 8th November 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Aberglaslyn, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Busbridge Road, Mill Street, Well Street, Forstal Lane, Stockett Lane and vice versa.

 

Dean Street, East Farleigh, ME15 0HL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow blockage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Dean Street, East Farleigh, on or after 21st October 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Deangate. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dean Street, B2163 Heath Road, Linton Park, A229 Linton Hill, A229 Staplehurst Road, B2079 Maidstone Road, Underlyn Lane, Green Lane, B2162 Collier Street, B2162 Benover Road, B2010 High Street, B2010 Yalding Hill, B2010 Smiths Hill, B2010 Lower Road, Dean Street and vice versa.

 

High Street, Maidstone, ME15 6YD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow well works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of High Street, Maidstone, on or after 21st October 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Riverside House, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any westbound through traffic is via High Street, Mill Street, A229 Bishops Way, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A249 Knightrider Street, A229 Mill Street A229 Bishops Way, A229 The Broadway, A229 St Peters Bridge, A229 Fairmeadow, High Street.

The alternative route for any eastbound through traffic is via High Street, A229 Bishops Way, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, Romney Place, Padsole Lane, A249 Wat Tyler Way, King Street, High Street.

 

Paynes Lane, Loose, ME15 9QZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Paynes Lane, Loose, on or after 21st October 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Berwyn Grove and Pear Tree Lane, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pear Tree Lane, Norrington Road, Berwyn Grove and vice versa.

 

Pett Road, Stockbury, ME9 7RL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pett Road, Stockbury, on or after 8th November 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Pett Farm Cottages. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic and access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.

 

The Grove, Bearsted, ME14 4JB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow electric works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Grove, Bearsted, on or after 23rd October 2024 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from 28 to the end of the cul-de-sac. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic and access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.

 

Weavering Street, Weavering, ME14 5UL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Weavering Street, Weavering, on or after 5th November 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Weavering Manor, between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Weavering Street, Grovewood Drive North, Provender Way, Grovewood Drive South, Weavering Street and vice versa.
