INTRODUCTION OF A CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE B9

NORTH-WEST BATTERSEA - B9

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth on 9 October 2024 made the following Orders under sections 6, 45, 46 and 46 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act

1984 as amended by the Local Government Act

1985 and the Traffic Management Act 2004:-

  • The Wandsworth (Battersea) (Parking Places) (No. 2) Order 2024
  • The Wandsworth (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Areas) (Amendment No. 660) Order 2024;
  • The Wandsworth (Electric Vehicles) (Parking Places) (No. 1) Order 2024;
  • The Wandsworth (Doctor Parking Places) (No. 1) Order 2024;
  • The Wandsworth (Car Club)(Parking Places) (No. 1) Order 2024
  • The Wandsworth (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (No. 1) Order 2024.

2. The general effect of the Order is to introduce a controlled parking zone in the north-west Battersea area, Zone B9, in lengths of Beverley Close, Chatfield Road, Darien Road, Ganley Road, Gartons Way, George Potter Way, Gwynne Road, Hibbert Street, Holgate Avenue, Holman Road, Hope Street, Ingrave Street, Kennet Close, Lavender Road, Livingstone Road, Maysoule Road, Mendip Road, Meyrick Road, Mendip Road, Newcomen Road, Plough Road, Sullivan Close, Thomas Bains Road, Windrush Close, Winstanley Road, Wye Street, Wynter Street, Yelverton Road and York Place. Permit parking will operate between operating between 10am and 11am, on Mondays to Fridays inclusive.

Permit parking will operate between operating between 10am and 11am, on Mondays to Fridays inclusive

3. The following provisions would apply to the extended Controlled Parking Zone:

  • parking places will be designated in the roads described in paragraph 2 above;
  • parking places will be permit holder only with the maximum parking period being unrestricted for permit holders. The hours of operation will be 10am and 11am on Mondays to Fridays inclusive;
  • vehicles which may be left in the parking places during the hours of operation will be passenger vehicles (16 passengers or less) and goods carrying vehicles: -
  • displaying either a valid resident permit, a valid visitor permit or a valid business permit appropriate to the B9 zone or a disabled person's badge;
  • Wandsworth Borough Council will issue all permits on application being made together with payment of the appropriate charge; and
  • generally yellow line waiting restrictions will be imposed in those sections of the roads listed above which are not occupied by parking places. The restrictions would operate between 10am and 11am on Mondays to Fridays inclusive. Existing waiting restrictions, which operate for longer than those hours would remain.

4. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 11 October 2024, and of documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of a period of six weeks from the date on which the

Orders were made in The Customer Centre, The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London, SW18 2PU.

5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements of that Act or of any relevant regulations made under that Act have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE - CHURCH LANE, SW17

1. The Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gully repair works to be undertaken ("the works") they intend to make an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce temporary prohibitions of traffic in Church Lane.

2. Whilst the works take place, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter, proceed or wait in Church Lane, at its junction with Mitcham Road.

3. Whilst the Order remains in force, alternative routes for vehicles (if applicable) will be available, as indicated by traffic signs. Exemptions in Rectory Lane will permit buses to enter.

4. The Order will come into effect on 21 October 2024 and will remain in force for a maximum of 18 months or until the works are complete, whichever is the sooner. The restrictions would only apply at such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by the placing of traffic signs. The works are expected to be completed by 30 November 2024.

5. Nothing in the Order applies to:

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE - BYTON ROAD SW17

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth proposes to make an order to restrict vehicular movement in Byton road to facilitate Thames Water utility works.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place, no vehicle shall enter, proceed or wait along Byton Road from the junction with Mitcham Road to the junction with Stella Road. There will be no waiting at any time.

3. Whilst the order remains in force the alternative route for traffic affected by the closure will be appropriately signed.

4. Further information may be obtained from the Council's Network Management section -telephone number (020) 8871 6904.

5. The order will come into operation on 22 October 2024 and will remain in place until the works are complete. The order will remain in place for no longer than 18 months, although the works are expected to be complete by 25 October 2024.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION - FURZEDOWN DRIVE SW17

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth proposes to make an order to restrict vehicular movement in Furzedown Drive to facilitate Virgin Media work.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place on Furzedown Drive, temporary waiting restrictions will be introduced from outside number 21 to outside number 32 Spalding Road. There will be no waiting Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 16:30 and Saturday 10:00 to 13:00.

3. Whilst the order remains in force the alternative route for traffic affected by the closure will be appropriately signed.

5. The order will come into operation on 21 October 2024 and will remain in place until the works are complete. The order will remain in place for no longer than 18 months, although the works are expected to be complete by 26 October 2024.

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION - GASSIOT ROAD SW17

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth proposes to make an order to restrict vehicular movement in Franciscan Road to facilitate Thames Water utility works.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place, no vehicle shall enter, proceed or wait along Gassiot Road, from the junction of Franciscan Road to the outside 104 Gassiot Road There will be no waiting at any time.

3. Whilst the order remains in force the alternative route for traffic affected by the closure will be appropriately signed.

4. Further information may be obtained from the Council's Network Management section -telephone number (020) 8871 6904.

5. The order will come into operation on 21 October 2024 and will remain in place until the works are complete. The order will remain in place for no longer than 18 months, although the works are expected to be complete by 24 October 2024.
