What is happening?

(Various Roads, City of Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order (No.27) 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the City of Colchester as specified in the schedule to this Order.

  2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads and those in the schedule for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the ‘No Waiting’ restriction will be in force.

“The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Consolidation Order 2019)” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above specified lengths of roads. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 3rd October 2024, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed for a period of each works phase. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Colchester as specified in the schedule to this Order.

  2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway on the above lengths of roads for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the ‘No Waiting’ restriction will be in force.

Footpath 61, Myland (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that further to a Notice on the 1st October 2024 the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: Further to a Notice on the 1st October 2024 Essex County Council has temporarily closed Footpath 61, Myland, in the City of Colchester from a point approximately 30 metres east of its junction with the A134 Northern Approach, eastwards for approximately 74 metres.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce whilst works are carried out for the ongoing construction of an adjacent compound.

The alternative route is Footpath 61, around the compound to a point where it joins the existing section of Footpath 61, and vice versa.

The closure came into effect on 6th October 2024 and may continue in force for six months, or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. This Order may be extended by the Secretary of State if an extension is required.

Colchester City (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment CCC No.64) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given Colchester City Council acting on behalf of the North Essex Parking Partnership in exercise of the delegated powers under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and pursuant to an agreement dated 1st July 2022 proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1), 3(1), 4(1), 32, 35, 45, 46, 49, and 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

(Various Roads, Great Bentley) (20mph Zone) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 84(1) and (2) and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To implement a 20mph Zone in Great Bentley in the District of Tendring.

Hall Road, West Bergholt (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hall Road, West Bergholt in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Old Church Lane for a distance of approximately 30m northwards. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th October 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03081687283193 – Openreach).

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while works are undertaken by Openreach. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed one.network.

No alternative route is available.

Hamilton Road, Colchester (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hamilton Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 35m south east of its junction with Maldon Road to a point approximately 21m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th November 2024 for 1 night (20:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (AD03166180203 – Anglian Water).

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Butt Road, Constantine Road, Maldon Road and vice versa (with access only into Hamilton Road).

The Order will come into effect on 17th October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

High Street North, West Mersea (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of High Street North, West Mersea in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Queen’s Corner to a point approximately 50m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd October 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201301063640 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via Upland Road, Queens Corner, Mill Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 17th October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Maldon Road, Great Wigborough (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Maldon Road, Great Wigborough in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Colchester Road to its junction with School Lane, a distance of approximately 1650m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th November 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20162371326 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Peldon Road, Cop Hall Lane, Wigborough Road, Lower Road, Church Road, Maldon Road, Layer Road, Layer Breton, and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 17th October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Rectory Road, Aldham (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Rectory Road, Aldham in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 680m south east of its junction with Tey Road to a point approximately 20m south east of its junction with Brook Road, a distance of approximately 300m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th October 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03160729676 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new water connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Tey Road, Brook Road, and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 17th October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Seaview Road, Brightlingsea (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Seaview Road, Brightlingsea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Seaview Gardens for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th November 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30003701640 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Bateman Road, Church Road and vice versa (with access only into Seaview Road).

The Order will come into effect on 17th October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

St Andrews Avenue, Colchester (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of St Andrews Avenue, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 140m south east of its junction with Cowdray Avenue for a distance of approximately 60m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th November 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC311AS006WPTF2619 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Ipswich Road, Harwich Road, A133, A1232 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 17th October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
