(Lordship Road & Cow Watering Lane, Writtle) (Chelmsford Marathon (Special Event) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 16 (A-C) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), has made the above Order to facilitate the Chelmsford Marathon.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Lordship Road and Cow Watering Lane, Writtle, in the City of Chelmsford.
Road Name - Description
Lordship Road, Writtle - Between its junction with the A1060 and the entrance to the Writtle College Lordship Campus.
Cow Watering Lane, Writtle - From its junction with Lordship Road, west for approximately 658 metres to its junction with Old Roxwell Road.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 13 October 2024 for 1 day between the hours of 09:00 and 17.00 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting and is required to facilitate the Chelmsford Marathon.
The alternative routes will be via
Route 1 Cow Watering Lane, A1060, parkway, Waterhouse Lane, Writtle Road, Chelmsford Road, Bridge Street, the Green, Lordship Road and vice versa.
Route 2 A1060, Parkway, Waterhouse Lane, Writtle Road, Chelmsford Road, Bridge Street, The Green, Lordship Road and vice versa
Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
The Order will come into effect on 13 October 2024 may continue in force for 3 days unless extended by the Secretary of State.
(Banters Lane, Great Leighs) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Banters Lane, Great Leighs in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Main Road for a distance of approximately 400m in a south easterly then north easterly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th November 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WFNNJ93SSB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while underground structure works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Banters Lane, Mill Lane, Boreham Road, Main Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 17th October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Swiss Avenue, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
Phase 1: To temporarily close that length of Swiss Avenue, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Kings Road to its junction with Dixon Avenue a distance of approximately 220m.
Phase 2: To temporarily close that length of Swiss Avenue, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Broomfield Road to its junction with Dixon Avenue a distance of approximately 495m.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 4th November 2024 for 40 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001352101 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas main replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via Kings Road, Corporation Road, Broomfield Road, Parkway, Rainsford Road and vice versa (with access only into Park Avenue, Swiss Avenue).
The Order will come into effect on 17th October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, City of Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.16) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on those lengths of roads specified in the schedule. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.
3. “The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 3rd October 2024, exact dates will be specified on One.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.

Beeleigh Link, Chelmsford From its junction with Beeleigh Link Roundabout to its junction with Chelmer Village Roundabout a distance of approximately 1045m. Beeleigh Link Roundabout, Chelmer Road, Chelmer Road Roundabout, Chelmer Village way and vice versa.
Chelmer Village Way, Chelmsford From its junction with Cuton Hall Lane to its junction with Beeleigh Link a distance of approximately 2410m. Cuton Hall Lane, Cuton Roundabout, Eastern Approach, Chelmer Road, Beeleigh Link Roundabout, Chelmer Road, Chelmer Road Roundabout, Chelmer Village Way and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of road in the City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
