What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL

(BORRANS ROAD, AMBLESIDE)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of Borrans Road, Ambleside, from its junction with MacIver Lane, extending in a predominantly north westerly direction to its junction with the U5554.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available as follows;

South East Bound Traffic: via the unrestricted sections of Borrans Road, Rothay Road, Compston Road, Rydal Road, Market Place and Lake Road.

North West Bound Traffic: via the unrestricted sections of Borrans Road, Lake Road, Wansfell Road and Rothay Road.

The Order will come into operation on 14 October 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 11 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
