WEST NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

(NORTHAMPTON ROAD AREA, CHAPEL BRAMPTON & DALLINGTON GRANGE)

(40 MPH SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that West Northamptonshire Council have made an Order under Section 84 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) to prohibit any motor vehicle from travelling at a speed exceeding 40 mph along those lengths of roads as specified in the Schedule to the made Order and detailed in the schedule below.

Under the provisions of the made Order, the provisions of the following Orders are hereby revoked, but only in so far as the locations specified in the schedule to the made Order and detailed in the schedule below, are affected by the Order.

I.   The “Northamptonshire County Council (Welford Road (A5199) Northampton (40 mph Speed Limit) Oder 1999”

II.  The “Northamptonshire County Council (Sandy Lane, Chapel Brampton) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2003”

III. The “Northamptonshire County Council (Various Roads, Daventry District) (30 mph, 40 mph and 50 mph Speed Limit) (No.1) Order 2012”

IV.The “Northamptonshire County Council (Various Roads, Daventry District) (40 mph Speed Limit) (Consolidation) Order 2018”

A COPY of the Order may be inspected at Kier Highways, Brixworth Depot, Old Harborough Road, Brixworth,

Northants, NN6 9BX at a time and date specified by appointment only by calling 01604 529700. A copy of the

Order can also be obtained on request by emailing WNCParkingenquiries@kier.co.uk

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the date of this Notice apply to the High Court for this purpose. The Order will become effective on 14th October 2024.
