UNDER SECTION 14/1 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING
(SCHOOL HILL, MIDGHAM)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over School Hill in Midgham between its junction with Birds Lane and its junction with Windmill Lane. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via School Hill, Midgham Green, New Road Hill, A4 Bath Road, Church Hill and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to repair a leaking fire hydrant. The proposed Order will come into effect on 16th October 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 16th and 18th October 2024.
(BATH ROAD, ST JOHNS ROAD, THATCHAM)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING &
REDUCTION OF SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Bath Road and St Johns Road in Thatcham. Bath Road, between its junction with Green Lane and its junction with High Street. St Johns Road from its junction with Bath Road to its junction with St Mark’s Close. This order extends to all cycle lanes on Bath Road, Thatcham between High Street and Bourne Road. This order prohibits any vehicle exceeding 20 miles per hour along Bath Road in Thatcham between its junction with Green Lane and its junction with High Street. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order on Bath Road is via Tull Way, Bowling Green Road, Heath Lane, Floral Way, London Road, Chapel Street and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for pedestrian crossing upgrade works
and tactile works undertaken by Volker Highways. The proposed Order will come into effect on 13th October 2024. It is envisaged that the Bath Road closure will be in place on 13th October and 17th November 2024. It is envisaged that the St Johns Road closure will be in place on 18th November 2024. It is envisaged that the speed limit reduction will be in place for the duration of the works.
(SAGECROFT ROAD, THATCHAM)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Sagecroft Road in the Town of Thatcham between its junction with Eliot Close and its junction with Hardy Close. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Park Lane, Bath Road, Northfield Road and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Openreach to install new ductwork. The proposed Order will come into effect on 28th October 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place during the hours of 09.30 and 15.30 each day between 28th and 31st October 2024.
(BAYDON ROAD, LAMBOURN)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AND
SUSPENSION OF PARKING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Baydon Road in the Town of Lambourn between its junction with Flintjack Place and its junction with Crowle Road. No Parking will be permitted 12 hours prior to the implementation of the closure between the above-mentioned junctions. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Parsonage La, High St, Crowle Rd and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to carry out repairs to Fire Hydrant. The proposed Order will come into effect on 28th October 2024.
(NEWBURY ROAD, LAMBOURN)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Newbury Road in the parish of Lambourn between its junction with Straight Lane and its junction with Bockhampton Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Hungerford Hill (A338), Ermin St (B4000), Hungerford Hill (B4000), and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to carry out disconnection works. The proposed Order will come into effect on 28th October 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 31st October and 3rd November 2024.
(SCHOOL ROAD, PADWORTH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over School Road in Padworth between its junction with Rectory Road and its junction with Silver Lane. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Rectory Road, Reading Road, Silver Lane and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to carry out a
boundary box exchange. The proposed Order will come into effect on 29th October 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 29th and 31st October 2024.
(READING ROAD, PARISHES OF PADWORTH
AND ALDERMASTON)(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Reading Road in the Parishes of Padworth and Aldermaston between its junction with Rectory Road and its junction with Red Lane. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Reading Rd (from Burghfield direction), Burghfield Rd, St Victoria Rd, West End Rd, Welshman’s Rd, and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for SSE to install a new service connection. The proposed Order will come into effect on 28th October 2024.
(BYWAYS OPEN TO ALL TRAFFIC IN THE PARISHES
OF BUCKLEBURY, LAMBOURN, BOXFORD AND BEEDON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF MECHANICALLY PROPELLED
VEHICLES) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any mechanically propelled vehicle with 3 wheels or more from proceeding in any direction over the byways listed in Schedule 1. An alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order can be found by using local roads. Full details of the restrictions, including a plan, can be obtained from the Rights of Way team via 01635 519069. The purpose of this Order is to protect vulnerable surfaces pending and following improvement works. The proposed Order will come into effect on 1st November 2024 and will remain in force until 1st May 2025. The Order shall remain in force for a period of Six months or until West Berkshire District Council is satisfied the restriction is no longer necessary whichever is the soonest.

The Order shall not take effect until the relevant notices are displayed on-site.
Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Final details of the closure can be viewed on One.Network
