Mid Sussex Amend Chargeable Parking Days

NOTICE OF PROPOSALS
THE MID SUSSEX DISTRICT COUNCIL
(OFF STREET PARKING PLACES)
ORDER 2006. (AMENDMENT NO. 1) 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Mid Sussex District Council, after
consultation under Regulation 6(1) of the Local Authorities Traffic
Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996, propose
to make an Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984, the effect of which will be to amend the chargeable days
and hours of off-street parking places for the purpose of regulating the
use of Car Parks in the District of Mid Sussex.
The general effect of the Order is:
• To extend the charging hours in town centre pay and display and
permit car parks to 8pm
• To introduce charges on Sundays, Public and Bank holidays in the
town centre pay and display and permit car parks
• The 6 day Season Ticket for Long Stay Car Parks and Season
ticket only car parks to be amended to a 7-day Season ticket.
• To Introduce an optional, overnight Season Ticket to allow
residents within the East Grinstead CPZ to park in Queensway Car
Park.
A copy of the proposed Order and the Council's Statement of Reasons
for proposing to make the Order and a copy of the Principal Order can
be inspected during normal office hours at Oaklands, Oaklands Road,
Haywards Heath, West Sussex, RH16 1SS. Details are also available
on the Council's website.
Any objections to these proposals must be made via email to
parkingconsultation@midsussex.gov.uk or in writing specifying the
grounds of objection to the Monitoring Officer, Mid Sussex District
Council, Oaklands, Oaklands Road, Haywards Heath, West Sussex,
RH16 1SS arriving not later than 12 noon on 31st October 2024. All
objections will be considered and may be published as part of the
report and will be publicly available to view.
