Dorset - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Works

What is happening?

DORSET COUNCIL

Temporary Traffic Management Order of Monmouth Road, Dorchester

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along MONMOUTH ROAD, DORCHESTER between its junction with Culliford Road and no. 180, a distance of approximately 105 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 30 October 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 6 November 2024.

This Order will enable Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd, safe access and egress of plant and machinery to Network Rail land. The effect of the Order will be:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on Monmouth Road between its junctions with Culliford Road and no. 180.

[2] To impose temporary clearway on Monmouth Road between its junctions with Culliford Road and no. 180 to prevent vehicles stopping to allow sufficient widths for machinery entering and exiting the works site.

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Tarrant Monkton

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Tarrant Monkton as listed: [i] High Street in its entirety; [ii] Unnamed Road from Turners Lane south to Apple Tree Cottage between Valley Road and Manor Farm.

The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 4 November 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 29 November 2024. Access will be maintained and only one closure will be in place at a time.

This Order will enable Wessex Internet, safe access to carry out fibre installation works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
