(RUN NORTHUMBERLAND CASTLES HALF MARATHON 2024)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 16A

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council (“the Council”), in exercise of its powers as the local traffic authority under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and all other enabling powers, has made on the 2nd October 2024 the Northumberland County Council (Run Northumberland Castles Half Marathon 2024) Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2024 (“the TTRO”).
The Council has made the TTRO for the purposes of facilitating the holding of Run Northumberland Castles Half Marathon 2024 (“the Event”) by restricting traffic on the following roads:
1. The B1340 Links Road from outside Bamburgh Car Park heading in a northerly direction for a length of 964 metres, the B1340 Front Street from it’s point with Links Road heading in a south westerly direction for a length of 367 metres, the B1341 Lucker Road from it’s point with Front Street heading in a south westerly direction for a length of 176 metres and the B1340 Adderstone Hall to Lucker Road from it’s point with Lucker Road heading in a south westerly direction for a length of 2820 metres (“Road One”);
2. The C63 Newham Hall junction to Bradford Kaims junction from it’s junction with Adderstone Hall to Lucker Road heading in a southerly direction for it’s entirety (“Road Two”);
3. The C65 Rayheugh junction to North Sunderland junction from it’s junction with Newham Hall junction to Bradford Kaims junction heading in an easterly direction for a length of 404 metres (“Road Three”);
4. The C66 West Fleetham to Newton Hall junction from it’s junction with Rayheugh junction to North Sunderland junction heading in a south easterly direction for a length of 1892 metres (“Road Four”);
5. The C68 West Fleetham to Main Street from it’s junction with West Fleetham to Newton Hall junction heading in a northerly direction for it’s entirety, the C68 Main Street from it’s point with West Fleetham to Main Street heading in an easterly direction for a length of 531 metres and the C65 Rayheugh junction to North Sunderland junction to it’s junction with Main Street heading in a westerly direction for a length of 2672 metres (“Road Five”); and
6. The U2009 Elford junction to Budle Bay junction to it’s junction with Rayheugh junction to North Sunderland junction heading in a northerly direction for a length of 1755 metres and the C64 Ingram Lane from it’s junction with the U2009 heading in a northerly direction for a length of 2653 metres (“Road Six”).
The TTRO shall come into force, subject to the provisions of section 16B of the Act at the following times:
7. In respect of Road One, 9:15 hours on 20th October 2024 and will remain in force until 10:15 hours on 20th October 2024;
8. In respect of Road Two, 9:15 hours on 20th October 2024 and will remain in force until 10:45 hours on 20th October 2024;
9. In respect of Road Three, 9:15 hours on 20th October 2024 and will remain in force until 11:00 hours on 20th October 2024;
10. In respect of Road Four, 9:15 hours on 20th October 2024 and will remain in force until 11:15 hours on 20th October 2024;
11. In respect of Road Five, 9:15 hours on 20th October 2024 and will remain in force until 12:10 hours on 20th October 2024;
12. In respect of Road Six, 9:15 hours on 20th October 2024 and will remain in force until 12:30 hours on 20th October 2024.
There will be no alternative route available for the duration of the TTRO.
All restrictions on the Road will be sign-posted and staffed and will remain in force only for as long as is necessary.
Nothing in the TTRO shall apply to:
a. Any activities taking place on the Road related to the organisation and holding of the Event;
b. Anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police officer or a Duly Authorised Officer of the Council.
c. Any vehicle being used by, or for the purposes of, the emergency services;
d. Any vehicle being used by or for the purposes of a statutory undertaker (e.g. the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which requires vehicles to be brought onto the Road); or
e. Pedestrian access to any premises adjoining the Road.
