What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(BREWERS HILL ROAD, DUNSTABLE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Brewers Hill Road, Dunstable between Maidenbower Avenue and Creasey Park Drive.

This temporary closure is required to enable civils work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 28 October to 30 October 2024 between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via High Street North, Chiltern Road, Maidenbower Avenue and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 28 October 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(GROVE ROAD, HOUGHTON REGIS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Grove Road, Houghton Regis between Thornbury Court and 123 Grove Road.

This temporary closure is required to enable footway repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 28 October to 1 November 2024 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure, access for residents will be maintained.

The Order will come into operation on 28 October 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(BARTON ROAD, STREATLEY)

(TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from exceeding a 30mph speed limit along the length of Barton Road, Streatley which extends from approximately 400 metres south of Sharpenhoe Road to the county boundary.

This temporary speed limit is required to enable safe access and egress of vehicles into site and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

It is expected that the 30mph speed limit will be in operation from 28 October 2024 to 17th January 2025.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 28 October 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Westfield Road, Dunstable from the side of number 1 to the junction with High Street North.

This temporary closure is required to enable excavation work to lay duct and build joint boxes to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 14 to 16 October 2024. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Maiden Bower Avenue, Chiltern Road, A505 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 14 October 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Northall Road, Eaton Bray 170m southwest of number 43.

This temporary closure is required to enable works to raise two buried manholes in the carriageway to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 14 to 18 October 2024. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Eaton Bray Road, Leighton Road (B440), High Street (Edlesborough), Moor End, High Street (Eaton Bray) and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 14 October 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE

WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON VARIOUS ROADS IN AND

AROUND CHURCH ROAD, TOTTERNHOE Reason for proposal: The waiting restrictions are intended to address indiscriminate parking and to ensure that junctions are not obstructed by parked vehicles.

Effect of the Order:

To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following lengths of road in Totternhoe:-

1.   Church Green, both sides, from the junction with Church Road and extending in a slightly north westerly direction for approximately 16 metres.

2.   Church Road, west side, from the junction with Church Green and extending in a northerly direction for approximately 17.5 metres.

3.   Church Road, west side, from the junction with Church Green and extending in a

      southerly direction for approximately 17.5 metres.

4.   Church Road, west side, from a point 6.5m northeast of the common property boundary between No. 2 Church Green and No. 1 Castle Hill Road and extending in a north easterly and then north westerly direction into Castle Hill Road for a total distance of                approximately 23 metres.

5.   Church Road, east side, from a point 6.5m northeast of a the common property boundary between No. 2 Church Green and No. 1 Castle Hill Road and extending in a north easterly direction for a distance of approximately 23 metres.

6.   Furlong Lane, north side, from a point in line with the eastern flank wall of No. 1 Furlong Lane and extending in a westerly direction before following the curvature of the kerb north for a distance of approximately 25 metres, ending at a point in line with the                front of the shed belonging to No. 1 Furlong Lane.

7.   Furlong Lane, south side, from a point in line with the eastern flank wall of No. 1 Furlong Lane and extending in a south westerly direction and then following the curvature of the kerb south-east into Wellhead Road for a total distance of approximately 43                  metres, ending at a point in line with the front property wall of No. 15 Church Road.

8.   Wellhead Road, north side, from a point in line with the front property wall of No. 15 Church Road and extending in a south easterly direction for approximately 48 metres.

9.   Wellhead Road, south side, from a point in line with the front property wall of No. 15 Church Road and extending in a north westerly direction for approximately 15 metres up to the junction with Church Road.

10. Church Road, east side, from the junction with Wellhead Road and extending in a south westerly direction for approximately 6.5 metres.

11. Furlong Lane, northeast side, from a point 2 metres northeast of the northern flank wall of No. 28 Furlong Lane and extending in a northeasterly direction for approximately 21 metres.

12. Furlong Lane, southwest side, from a point 2 metres northeast of the northern flank wall of No. 28 Furlong Lane and extending in a north westerly direction following the curvature of the kerb for approximately 12 metres up to the junction with Dunstable Road.

To introduce No Waiting from Monday to Friday between 8am and 9am and between 3pm and 4pm on the following lengths of road in Totternhoe:-

1.   Furlong Lane, northeast side, from a point in line with the eastern flank wall of No. 1 Furlong Lane and extending in a north easterly direction for approximately 142 metres.

2.   Church Road, east side from a point 6.5m northeast of the common property boundary between No. 2 Church Green and No. 1 Castle Hill Road and extending in a southerly direction for approximately 53 metres.

3.   Church Road, east side, from a point approximately 8.5m southwest of the centre of the junction with Wellhead Road and extending in a southerly direction for approximately 80 metres, ending at a point approximately 2 metres northeast of the northern flank            wall of No. 26 Church Road.

4.   Church Road, west side, from a point in line with the front of the shed belonging to No. 1 Furlong Lane and extending in a southerly direction for approximately 57 metres.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE A 20MPH SPEED LIMIT AND EXTEND THE EXISTING 30MPH SPEED LIMIT ON CHURCH ROAD, TOTTERNHOE

Reason for proposal: The speed limit is intended to reduce traffic speeds in the vicinity of the lower school and on pedestrian routes to and from school.

Effect of the Order:

To introduce a 20mph Speed Limit on the following lengths of road in Totternhoe:-

1. Church Road, from the junction with Castle Hill Road and Dunstable Road and extending in a south westerly direction for approximately 390 metres, ending at a point approximately 5 metres south-west of the centre of the junction with The Ride.

To extend the 30mph Speed Limit on the following lengths of road in Totternhoe:-

1. Church Road, from a point approximately 172.5 metres south-west of the centre of the junction with The Ride and extending in a south westerly direction for approximately 50 metres.

Reason for proposal: For avoiding danger to persons or other traffic and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising; For facilitating the passage of traffic on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians) and more specifically the proposed waiting restrictions are intended to address indiscriminate parking in the vicinity of the lower school to create a safer environment for those travelling to and from school.

Effect of the Order:

To amend No Stopping on School Entrance Markings from Monday to Friday between 8.00am and 4.30pm on the following length of road in Totternhoe:-

1.  Church Road, east side, from a point approximately 6.5 metres northeast of the northern flank wall belonging to No. 26 Church Road and extending in a northeasterly direction for 43.56 metres.

Notice is hereby given that the works to Bridleway Nos. 58 and 59, Houghton Regis to provide alternative highways to Footpaths Nos. 4 and A7, Houghton Regis being stopped up have been completed in accordance with the requirements of Articles 2 and 4 of the above Order, which was confirmed by Central Bedfordshire Council on 30 June 2023

Footpaths Nos. 4 and A7, Houghton Regis are hereby stopped up as of 26 September 2024.
