York Street - Temporary Road Closure For Pole Replacement Works To Occur
What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(YORK STREET, EDGELEY) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Road Closure at York Street, Edgeley from the junction of Old Chapel Street in a northerly direction for approx. 80m whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to allow pole replacement works to occur.It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the works will be 1 day. Alternative routes will be provided via:- Old Chapel Street, Bulkeley Street, Chatham Street, and vice versa.This Order is to come into operation on the 21 October 2024 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
