What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -
SECTION 14(1)(A) AND (7) THE A11 TRUNK ROAD (B1085 RED LODGE
INTERCHANGE TO A1101/A1065 FIVEWAYS ROUNDABOUT, BARTON MILLS, SUFFOLK) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) has made an Order on the A11 Trunk Road, in the County of Suffolk to enable carriageway resurfacing and repairs, renewal of road markings and road studs, drainage works, safety barrier repairs and surveys and inspections to be carried out in safety. The works will take place overnight (8pm-6am) and last for approximately 4 months starting on, or after, Monday 7 October 2024.
The effect of the Order will be to close, alternately, the A11 northbound and southbound carriageways between B1085 Red Lodge Interchange and A1101/A1065 Fiveways Roundabout. Southbound traffic will be diverted to exit the A11 at Fiveways Roundabout then via the A1101 and B1106 to join the westbound A14 at J42 and continue, vice versa for northbound traffic.
Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times. The closures (which will not apply to emergency service, traffic officer, works or winter maintenance
vehicles) and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. The Order will come into force on 30 September 2024 and remain in force until the works detailed above have been completed, or for a maximum duration of eighteen months, whichever is the earlier.
