What is happening?

Various Roads, Scotch Corner Area, Derestricted Roads, Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that The North Yorkshire Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 82(2) & 83(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to remove the 30 mph speed limits which have been imposed on the lengths of road specified in the following table by virtue of street lighting being installed. The lengths of road will therefore remain subject to the national speed limit. Schedule Middleton Tyas Lane, from its junction with the interchange with the A1(M) / A66 north eastwards to a point 62 metres north east of its junction with the easternmost tip of the splitter island adjacent to the interchange (measured along the southern kerb line). A6055 North of Scotch Corner, from its junction with the roundabout at the junction with the slip road to the A1 (M) Northbound northwards to a point 37 metres north of its junction with the northernmost tip of the splitter island adjacent to the roundabout (measured along the centre line of the road). A6055 South of Scotch Corner, from its junction with the interchange with the A1 (M) / A66 southwards to a point 22 metres south of its junction with the southernmost tip of the splitter island in the leg of the A6055 to the south of the roundabout at the junction with the A6108 Barracks Bank (measured along the centre line of the road). The carriageway around the roundabout at the junction with the A6108 is included in its entirety. A6108 Barracks Bank, from its junction with the roundabout at the junction with the A6055 westwards to a point 17 metres west of its junction with the westernmost tip of the splitter island adjacent to the roundabout (measured along the centre line of the road). A copy of the draft Order, together with a map showing the roads affected & a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at County Hall, Northallerton & at Richmond Library, Queen's Road, Richmond, DL10 4AE during normal office hours from 04/10/24 until 25/10/24 & also viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map or www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders. 30 Mph Speed Limit, Various Roads, Barton, Order 2024 Notice is hereby given that on 27/09/24 The North Yorkshire Council made an Order under Sections 84(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which is to prohibit any motor vehicle from travelling at a speed in excess of 30 mph on any length of road specified. Silver Street, Barton, from a point 41 metres south west of its junction with the easternmost kerb line of its junction with the westernmost leg of Melrose Lane (measured along the northern kerb line) north eastwards to a point 81 metres north east of its junction with the centre line of St Cuthbert's Green (measured along the northern kerb line). Church Lane, Barton, from its junction with Silver Street north westwards to a point 49 metres north west of its junction with the centre line of Church Meadows (measured along the eastern kerb line). Marygate, Barton, from its junction with Silver Street south eastwards to a point 10 metres south east of its junction with the southernmost side of Wells Lane (measured along the eastern kerb line).
