Salt Box Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order Works For, Or On Behalf Of Network Rail

What is happening?

Alternative Route: Leigh Hill Road, (A245) Stoke Road, (A245) Mill Road, (A245) High Street, (A245) Between Streets and (A307) Portsmouth Road or this route in reverse. This Order is required to allow mains gas replacement works and/or any other associated works to be carried out for, or on behalf of SGN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 11 days between the hours of 8am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, and 8am and 5pm Saturdays, within the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 28 October 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary prohibitions, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. For part (a) The above restriction shall not apply to vehicles being used in relation to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or in accordance with any restrictions or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police. For parts (b, c, and d): Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.

Salt Box Road (C14) Worplesdon Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Salt Box Road (C14) Worplesdon that is crossed under the bridge known as “Salt Box Road” (17/12) and for a distance of 20 metres either side; (b) Suspend “The County Council of Surrey (Stoughton and Bellfields Area, Guildford) (Prohibition of Heavy Goods Vehicles) Order 1989” insofar as it affects the length of road specified in this Notice. 
Alternative Route: Salt Box Road, (A320) Woking Road, Stoughton Road, (A322) Worplesdon Road, and Salt Box Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to carry out utility works for, or on behalf of Network Rail. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 nights, between the hours of 10pm and 5am, during the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 30 October 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. No sole access is affected by this closure.

Pitch Hill (C46) Ewhurst Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Pitch Hill (C46) Ewhurst as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as “Downside” to its junction with the access to the property known as “Drury House”. Alternative Route: Pitch Hill, Lawbrook Lane, Walking Bottom, Ewhurst Road, Peaslake Road, and Pitch Hill, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate gas mains works for, or on behalf of SGN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 28 October 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists, and dismounted equestrians will be maintained all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access is affected by this closure.

Feltham Hill Road (D6205) Ashford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Feltham Hill Road (D6205) Ashford which extends from its junction with Goffs Road to its junction with Doris Road. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate road table surface reconstruction works and gully repairs, and/or any other associated works, which is anticipated to be completed within 3 days, between 8am and 6pm, during the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 28 October 2024. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. 
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Alternative Route – Feltham Hill Road, Chertsey Road, Staines Road West, School Road, Feltham Hill Road and vice versa.

Notice of application for registration of land claimed to have become Common land after 2nd January 1970
To every reputed owner, lessee, tenant or occupier of any part of the land described below, and to all others whom it may concern.
Application has been made to the registration authority, the Surrey County Council, Woodhatch Place, 11 Cockshot Hill, Reigate, Surrey, RH2 8EF under section 13 of the Commons Registration Act 1965 by Nancy El-Shatoury, Surrey County Council Legal Services, 1st Floor, Dakota, De Havilland Drive, Weybridge, Surrey, KT13 0YP under section 13 of the Commons Registration Act 1965 for the inclusion in the Register of Common Land of the land described at Annex A below, which it is claimed became common land on 21 December 2009 in substitution for the land described at Annex B below, which, it is claimed, ceased to be common land on that date, under and by virtue of a Compulsory Purchase Order dated 21 December 2009, pursuant to powers contained in the Highways Act 1980, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Acquisition of Land Act 1981.
The application, which includes a plan of both areas, may be inspected at the offices of the Countryside Access Team, Whitebeam Lodge, Merrow Depot, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ and copies of the application and plans may be inspected at the following local authority offices:-

If the registration authority is satisfied that the land described at Annex A below has become common land as claimed, it will so register the land, and such registration will be conclusive evidence of the status of the land as at the date of registration. The land described at Annex B below will then be removed from the register.
Any person wishing to object to the registration of the land as common land or to the removal from the register of the land described at Annex B below should send a written and signed statement of the facts on which he bases his objection to Surrey County Council, Countryside Access Team, Whitebeam Lodge, Merrow Depot, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ so as to arrive not later than 18 November 2024.

Public Path (Part) Extinguishment Order 2024
On 26 September 2024 Surrey County Council confirmed the above Order made under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.The effect of the Order as confirmed is to extinguish that section of Footpath 349 (Ash) running from its junction with Footpath 600 at Grid Ref. 489075 149848 in a north easterly direction for 30m.A copy of the Order as confirmed may be seen free of charge at the Countryside Access Office, Surrey County Council, Merrow Depot, Merrow Lane, Guildford GU4 7BQ (by appointment only Tel. 0300 200 1003), at Guildford Borough Council offices, Millmead House, Millmead, Guildford, GU2 4BB and at Guildford Library, 77 North Street, Guildford, GU1 4AL during opening hours. The notice can also be viewed on www. surreycc.gov.uk under Footpaths, Byways and Bridleways. Copies of the Order may be purchased from the County Council for £4 The Order comes into force on 7 October 2024 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highway Act 1980 as amended or on the ground that any requirement of the Act as amended or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order he or she may under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act within six weeks from 4 October 2024 make an application to the High Court.
