Seaton Lane - Traffic Management Notice
What is happening?
THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM
(A1018 & B1404 SEATON LANE, SEATON)
TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT (EXPERIMENTAL) ORDER 2024
The Council on 7/10/2024 made an Experimental Order under Sections 9 & 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which comes into operation on 14/10/2024, for a period not exceeding 18 months, for the duration of this experimental order. The effect of this Order will be to impose the following restrictions No Entry Restrictions on (1) A1018 from the B1404 in a northerly direction (2) A19 Southbound off Slip from the A1018 roundabout in a north westerly direction. 50 MPH Speed Limit Restrictions on (1) A1018 southbound from a point 19 metres southwest of the A1018 / B1285 roundabout in a south westerly direction for 419 metres (2) A1018 southbound from a point 368 metres northeast of the northern extents of the B1404 overbridge, Seaton Lane at the exit point from the A1018 link road to a point 10 metres north of the northern extents of the B1404 overbridge, Seaton Lane (3) A1018 northbound From a point 463 metres northeast of the A1018 northbound A19 overbridge eastern extents to a point 19 metres southwest of the A1018 / B1285 roundabout. (4) A1018 link road From a point 970 metres northeast of the northern extents of the B1404 overbridge, Seaton Lane at the start of the two-way section of carriageway at the southern extents of the A1018 crossover to the existing junction of the B1404, Seaton Lane including the new roundabout over a distance of 970 metres (5) A1018 Crossover From a point on the A1018 link road 940 metres northeast of the northern extents of the B1404 overbridge to its merging point on the A1018 northbound 328 metres southwest of the A1018 / B1285 roundabout. Prohibition of Right Turn Restriction from the A1018 link road southbound onto field access located 555 metres north of the northern extents of the B1404 overbridge. Prohibition of Left Turn Restriction from the A1018 link road northbound onto the field access located 555m north of the northern extents of the B1404 overbridge. Exemptions will apply. Full details of which can be found in the Experimental Order, which together with plans, may be inspected at Seaham library during normal opening hours & via the Council website. The Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Experimental Order should be continued indefinitely.
