What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC140117487: The City of Manchester (Princess Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Princess Street from Brancaster Street to Sackville Street.

The alternative routes for traffic will be: Brook Street, Mancunian Way, Sackville Street, Whitworth Street, Princess Street & Princess Street, Whitworth Street, Fairfield Street, London Road, Mancunian Way, Downing Street, Ardwick Green South, Stockport Road, Brunswick Street, Upper Brook Street, Brook Street.

The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a crane.

It is expected that the works will be in progress from 6 October 2024 to 7 October 2024 between the hours of 6pm and 6am.

The order shall come into operation on 6 October 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months.

If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
