NOTICE OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2024

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Footpath AX20/3/30, Locking, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2024

Date coming into force: 10 October 2024 - Ref T24-47

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpath specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services and works access.

This order is required because of work being executed on the footpath by North Somerset Council to address ground conditions and drainage issues. This order will become operative on 10th October 2024 for a maximum period of 6 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 4 weeks in duration. Appropriate signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule - Footpath AX20/3/30 between the junction of AX20/3/30 with Locking Moor Road (A370) and the junction of AX20/3/30 with Leafy Way.

Alternative routes - A370 Locking Moor Road, public footpath AX20/4/10, public footpath AX20/3/20 and vice-versa.

Footpath AX3/6/10, Banwell, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2024

Date coming into force: 10 October 2024 - Ref T24-49

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpath specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services and works access.

This order is required because of work being executed on the footpath by North Somerset Council to construct Banwell Bypass. This order will become operative on 10 October 2024 for a maximum period of 6 months.

Schedule - Footpath AX3/6/10 between the junction of AX3/6/10 with Cook's Lane and the junction of AX3/6/10 with Moor Road.

Alternative routes - Cook's Lane, Wolvershill Road, Goding Lane, Moor Road and vice-versa.

Leafy Way, Locking, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Waiting and Loading Order 2024

Date coming into force: 10 October 2024 - Ref: T24-48

Will be to prohibit, temporarily, waiting and loading to all vehicles on the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, and for enforcement of the restrictions.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work on and nearby the highway by North Somerset Council to upgrade the public right of Way off Leafy Way. This will become operative on the 10 October 2024 for a maximum period of 6 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 4 weeks in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule - Leafy Way, Locking between the junction with Meadow Drive and a point 50m northwest.

FINAL NOTICE OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2024

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, have made an order the effect of which:

Bristol Road, Rhodyate Hill & Wrington Road, Congresbury, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2023

Date comes into force: 7 October 2024 - Ref: T24-44

Is to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the schedule to this notice.

This order was required because of highway improvement works and will become operative on 7 October 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works. It is anticipated the closures will be at night-time only from 8pm to 6am for a period of approximately 3 weeks from 25 October 2024 and there will be a further daytime closure from 9.30am to 3.30pm on the exit of Wrington Road for a period of approximately four weeks from 7 October 2024.

Schedule - A370 Bristol Road, Congresbury from its junction with the Bristol Road no through road entrance to the allotments to its junction with Wrington Road approximately 40m north of its junction with Wood Hill. A370 Rhodyate Hill, Congresbury from its junction with Wrington Road to a point 40m north of its junction with Wood Hill. Wrington Road, Congresbury from its junction with Bristol Road, Congresbury to its junction with the unadopted entrances to the first houses on Wrington Road approximately 40m from Bristol Road.

Alternative routes - (1) A370 Bristol Road, A370 Rhodyate Hill Diversion - A370 Rhodyate Hill, A370 Main Road, Brockley, A370 West Town Road, A370 Farleigh Road, A370 Main Road, Flax Bourton, A370 Long Ashton By-pass, Gurney Roundabout, A4174 Colliters Way, A38 Bridgwater Rd, A38 Red Hill, A38 Lower Langford By-pass, B3133 Stock Lane, B3133 Brinsea Road, B3133 High Street, A370 Bristol Road and vice-versa. (2) Wrington Road Diversion - Wrington Road, West Hay Road, High Street, School Road, Long Lane, Church Road, A38 Red Hill, A38 Lower Langford By-pass, B3133 Stock Lane, B3133 Brinsea Road, B3133 High Street, A370 Bristol Road and vice-versa.

Eastermead Lane, Banwell, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024

Date coming into Force: 30 September 2024 - Ref: T24-46

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of work being executed on and near the road by North Somerset Council to construct Banwell Bypass including associated investigations, surveys, diversions and other enabling works. North Somerset Council are satisfied that the execution of the works in question will take 24 months. This will become operative on the 30 September 2024 for a maximum period of 24 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 24 months in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule - Eastermead Lane from the northeastern end of Eastermead Lane to a point 330m southwest.

Bluebell Road, Wick St Lawrence, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024

Date coming into force: 21 October 2024 - Ref: SW24.25-164

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wessex Water to replace cover and frame. This will become operative on the 21 October 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, cyclists & pedestrians the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by North Somerset Council to fell Ash affected by Ash Dieback along A370 Bridgwater Road, Weston-super-Mare between the hospital roundabout and Jubilee Park. This will become operative on the 14 October 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 5 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Toucan Crossing at the Runway, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset

Notice is hereby given that the District Council of North Somerset in exercise of powers conferred by section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, and after consultation with the chief officer of police, intends to install 1 toucan crossing in North Somerset: The Runway, Weston-super-Mare 38m southeast of Locking Moor Road roundabout. A copy of the plan together with a Statement of the Council's Reasons for proposing to make these changes may be viewed at Weston-super-Mare Library, North Somerset Council, Town Hall, Weston-super Mare BS23 1UJ (during normal office hours) or online at
