What is happening?
THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND (NO WAITING AT ANY TIME) (PENNYWELL ROAD, SUNDERLAND) TRAFFIC
REGULATION ORDER 20--
NOTICE is given that Sunderland City Council propose to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4
and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, by virtue of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other
enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act. The
effect of the proposed Order will be to introduce a no waiting at any time restriction along Pennywell Road, Sunderland, the
south-west side from a point 9.1 metres north-west of the extended party property boundary of 50 & 52 Pennywell Road, for a
distance of 11.3 metres north-westerly direction.THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND SECTIONS 90A-90C AND
90G-90H HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 ROAD HUMP NOTICE PROPOSED SPEED CUSHIONS AT PENNYWELL ROAD
SUNDERLAND Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Sunderland in exercise of its powers under Section 90A of
the Highways Act 1980 and after consultation in accordance with Section 90C of the Highways Act 1980 proposes to construct
Speed Cushions complying with the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 (as amended) to reduce vehicle speeds along
Pennywell Road, Sunderland. The nature, dimension and location of the proposed speed cushions are in the form of double
speed cushions that are raised sections of the carriageway, designed to control vehicle speeds. Each speed cushion will have
the following dimensions: Overall Width: 1800mm, Length:3000mm, On/off Gradient:1:8, Plateau Length:1800mm, Max
Height:75mm. A pair of speed cushions will be centred longitudinally at the given reference point. Location (i) Pennywell Road
from the centre of the carriageway, at a point 3.5 metres north-west of the extended party property boundary of 50 & 52
Pennywell Road. (ii) Pennywell Road from the centre of the carriageway, at a point 12.7 metres south-east of the extended
party property boundary of 30 & 32 Pennywell Road. (iii) Pennywell Road from the centre of the carriageway, at a point 11.6
metres south-east of the extended party property boundary of 14 & 16 Pennywell Road. The current speed limit on the above
lengths of road is 20mph. Traffic signs will be erected in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions
2016. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposed order and road humps may be inspected during normal
opening hours at City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland SR1 3AA, until the end of the objection period. An electronic copy of the

road humps must be made in writing to E. Waugh, Assistant Director of Law and Governance, City Hall, Plater Way,
