What is happening?
Temporary Closure of Burton Street, Marnhull
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Burton Street, Marnhull from junction with Love Lane to a point approximately 200 metres to the east (in both directions). The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 4 November 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 6 December 2024.
This Order will enable Wessex Water to replace the existing water main with a reinforcement main.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using Burton Street, Musbury Lane, C15, C21, A30, B3092, Church Hill and vice versa.

Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Notice will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.
The County of Dorset (A30 Yeovil to Shaftesbury Road) (60mph Speed Limit) (No. 14) Order 2024
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of Dorset has made the above-mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.
2. When the Order comes into operation on 11 October 2024 the effect of the Order is to reduce the speed limit from 70 mph to 60mph on a section of the A30 Yeovil to Shaftesbury Road, from a point approximately 57 metres west of its junction with the eastern entrance of Barton Gardens in a south westerly direction for a distance of approximately 5.3 km.

4. Concerns relating to the validity of the Order or any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order you may within six weeks of the date of this Notice apply to the High Court for that purpose.

Temporary Closure of Tunnel Head, Sandley
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Tunnel Head, Sandley over Hartmoor Tunnel between Honey Suckle Cottage and Tower House, a distance of approximately 100 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 28th October 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16 February 2025.
This Order will enable Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd, safe access to carry out upgrade works to the railway and tunnel.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
