What is happening?

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF CALDERDALE

(TRAFFIC REGULATION) (ASH TREE GARDENS, ASH TREE ROAD AND SUNNY BANK ROAD, MIXENDEN) (NO. 1)  ORDER  2024

NOTICE is hereby given that the Borough Council of Calderdale (‘the Council’) in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 made the above Order on 25 September 2024, the effect of which will be to:

1.  Prohibit motor vehicles from proceeding in both directions of:

(a) Ash Tree Gardens from a point approximately 10 metres from its junction with Ash Tree Road for a distance of circa 7 metres in a southerly direction; and  

(b) Sunny Bank Road from a point approximately 26 metres east of its junction with Stanningley Road for a distance of circa 5 metres in an easterly direction.

2.  Introduce a one-way traffic system on:

(a) Ash Tree Road between its junctions with Sunny Bank Road and Mixenden Road in a north easterly direction; and

(b )Sunny Bank Road between its junctions with Mixenden Road and Ash Tree Road in a westerly direction.

The Order will come into effect on 7 October 2024. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order, including the statement of reasons and plans showing the affected roads, are available for inspection at Halifax Central Library, Halifax, HX1 1QG, from 10.00 am to 5.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays and 10.00 am to 4.00 pm on Saturdays. Alternatively copies of the documents can be viewed on the Council’s website at: https://new.calderdale.gov.uk/streets-and-transport/transport-initiatives/tro/current-tros#tro15810 or can be made available on request via email:- activestreets@calderdale.gov.uk or telephone 01422 288001 or 288002.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made (i.e. 25 September 2024) apply to the High Court for this purpose.
