What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WOOD LANE END, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Wood Lane End, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Mark Road north eastwards to its junction with A4147 Maylands Avenue, a distance of approximately 95m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Mark Road, Cleveland Road and A4147 Maylands Avenue or via A4147 Maylands Avenue, A414 St Albans Road, Leverstock Green Road and Wood Lane End. The Order is needed because cabling works are proposed to be executed near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 21 October 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF SHARPES LANE, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Sharpes Lane, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Pix Farm Lane south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with A4251 London Road, a distance of approximately 392m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Pix Farm Lane, Little Heath Lane and A4251 London Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 21 October 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MILL STREET, BERKHAMSTED) ORDER NO.2 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Mill Street, Berkhamsted from a point 200m south west of its junction with Castle Street south westwards for a distance of approximately 60m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Mill Street, Castle Street, A4251 High Street, Water Lane and Mill Street.
The Order is needed because utility connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 4 October 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HIGH STREET AND BUCKWOOD ROAD, MARKYATE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-
1. that length of High Street, Markyate from its junction with Wesley Road south eastwards to its junction with Buckwood Road, a distance of approximately 142m.
An alternative route will be via High Street, A5183 Dunstable Road, London Road and High Street.
2. that length of Buckwood Road, Markyate from its junction with High Street south westwards for a distance of approximately 70m.
An alternative route will be via High Street, A5183 (Dunstable Road/Watling Street), B4540 Lynch Hill, Clay Hall Road and Buckwood Road.
The Order is needed because cabling works are proposed to be executed near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 October 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN CHIPPERFIELD ROAD, KINGS LANGLEY) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Chipperfield Road, Kings Langley from its junction with Langley Hill south westwards to its junction with Kings Langley Public Footpath No.006, a distance of approximately 939m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Vicarage Lane, A4251 (Hempstead Road/London Road), A41 (Two Waters Way/unnamed road), A4251 London Road, B4505 (Box Lane/Hempstead Road), High Street, Chipperfield Road, Tower Hill, Chapel Croft, Langley Road and Chipperfield Road.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 7 October 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BUNCEFIELD LANE, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Buncefield Lane, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with A414 Breakspear Way north westwards for a distance of approximately 160m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via A414 Breakspear Way, Green Lane, Boundary Way and Buncefield Lane.
The Order is needed because resurfacing and sewer connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 7 October 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF GREAT GADDESDEN, POTTEN END, LONG MARSTON, MARKYATE, FRITHSDEN, NORTHCHURCH, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD, WILSTONE AND TRING) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):-
1. that length of St Margarets, Great Gaddesden from its junction with Pipers Hill north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
2. that length of Frithsden Lane, Potten End from its junction with Nettleden Road north westwards to its junction with Ashridge Road, a distance of approximately 1200 m.
An alternative route will be via Nettleden Road, The Common and Ashridge Road.
3. that length of Chapel Lane, Long Marston from its junction with Station Road south westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
4. that length of Puddephats Lane, Markyate from its junction with Green Lane south westwards and north westwards to its junction with Wood End Lane, a distance of approximately 3000 m.
An alternative route will be via Puddephats Lane, Trowley Bottom and Wood End Lane.
5. that length of Nettleden Road, Frithsden from its junction with Vicarage Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 1500 m.
An alternative route will be via Diversion Route Nettleden Road, The Common, Water End Road, Potten End Hill, B440 Leighton Buzzard Road and Nettleden Road.
6. that length of Ashridge Road, Northchurch from its junction with Frithsden Lane south eastwards and southwards to its junction with The Common, a distance of approximately 1216m.
An alternative route will be via Frithsden Lane, Nettleden Road and The Common.
7. that length of Washington Avenue, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with St Agnells Lane north westwards, south westwards and south eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
8. that length of Tring Road, Wilstone from its junction with Watery Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 200 m.
An alternative route will be via Tring Road, Wingrave Road, B489 Lower Icknield Way and Tring Road.
9. that length of B486 Brook Street, Tring from its junction with Plaiters Close north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Brookfield Close, a distance of approximately 200m.
An alternative route will be via B486 Brook Street, B4635 (High Street/Western Road/Aylesbury Road), B488 Icknield Way and B486 (Wingrave Road/New Mill Terrace/Brook Street).
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 7 October 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
