A12 Trunk Road - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic For Install A New Overhead Electrical Connection

What is happening?

THE A12 TRUNK ROAD (JUNCTION 23 KELVEDON SOUTH INTERCHANGE TO JUNCTION 25 MARKS TEY INTERCHANGE, ESSEX) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 202_

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) intends to make an Order on the A12 Trunk Road in Essex to allow for third party works to install a new overhead electrical connection across the carriageway to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to take place over 1 night, weekdays only (9pm-5am) starting on or after Thursday 24 October 2024.

The effect of the Order would be to close the A12 northbound and southbound carriageways between Junction 23 Kelvedon South Interchange and Junction 25 Marks Tey Interchange, including the northbound entry slip road at Junction 24 Kelvedon North Interchange and the southbound entry slip road at Junction 25 Marks Tey Interchange – diverting northbound traffic to exit the A12 at J23 to join the A12 southbound and exit at J19, then via Beaulieu Parkway, Channels Drive, A130, A131, A120 eastbound to Marks Farm Roundabout then via the A12 at J25 to continue their journey, southbound traffic vice versa.

Access to residential properties would be maintained at all times during the closures.

The Order would come into force on 21 October 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months or until the works detailed above have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
