What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER_ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC000140298577: The City of Manchester (Portland Street, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary Closure of Cycle Lane) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit any pedal cycle (and any pedestrian) from proceeding at any time in the following length of cycle lane: Portland Street, from Dickinson Street to Oxford Street (Outbound). The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate repair of defective carriageway chamber on behalf of Vodafone. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 7th October 2024 to 8th October 2024. The order shall come into operation on 7th October 2024and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. 
ORDER NO. MCC140454252: The City of Manchester (Francis Street, Cheetham Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Francis Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate an electric connection. It is expected that the works will be in progress on Sunday 6th October 2024 and Sunday 13th October 2024. The order shall come into operation on 6th October 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham. Head of Network Management, Neighbourhood
