Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

East Challow, BOAT 3 Closure commenced: 26 March 2024 Date of Order: 8 April 2024 Came into force: 15 April 2024 This Order was introduced as the surface of the BOAT is unsafe for continued public access. The timescale for repairs is uncertain due to prioritising and funding issues. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily part of BOAT 3 (196/3) Cornhill Lane, between the A417 and St Nicholas primary school.

Exemptions are included for emergency services, for Works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of footpath. No alternative off-road route is available. The order, with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport will remain in force until 31 December 2025 or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner. Appropriate signs are displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. (Ref: T13821/AC)

Sunningwell, Footpath No.11 Closure Closure commenced: 6 March 2024

Date of Order: 18 March 2024 Coming into force: 26 March 2024 This Order continues in force a closure by emergency Notice on 6 March and is introduced for culvert removal due to localised flooding which will be completed on an unknown date to prioritising and funding issues. This is a 24 hour footpath closure. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily part of footpath No.11 Sunningwell Village Green, South of Sunningwell Road. Exemptions are included for emergency services, for Works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed sections of footpath. The alternative route will be signed via existing permissive path across Sunningwell Village Green, gate adjacent to cemetery. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. (Ref: T13671/AC)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

West Hagbourne, BOAT 9 Date of Order: 8 April 2024

Came into force: 14 April 2024 This Order was introduced because the surface of the Byway Open to All Traffic is in poor condition and unsafe for continued use by the public. The timescale for repair is unknown due to prioritisation and funding challenges. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily that part of the BOAT 9 - Moor Lane, between Main Street and Blewbury Road (towards East Hagbourne). Exemptions are included for emergency services, for Works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of BOAT. There is no alternative off-road diversion available. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

With the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport the order will remain in force until 31 December 2025 or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T13818/AC)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Kennington, St Swithuns Road Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 14 October 2024 Coming into force: 26 October 2024 This Order is being introduced because of carriageway re-surfacing which is anticipated to be completed 15 November 2024. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in St Swithuns Road between The Avenue and Kirk Close. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic will be signed locally. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Towersey, Windmill Road Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 30 September 2024 Coming into force: 7 October 2024 This Order is being introduced because of UKPN power supply repair works which are anticipated to take 2 weeks to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in the mid-section of Windmill Road between Kingsey Road and Towersey Road. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Traffic will be diverted via Windmill Road - A4129 - B4012 - Towersey Road - Windmill Road and vice versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. Traffic Regulations Team (Ref: T14360/MR)

West Challow, Letcombe Regis & Letcombe Bassett, BOAT Closures Date of Order: 8 April 2024

Came into force: 15 April 2024 This Order was introduced as the surface of the byways is unsafe for continued public use. The timescale for repair is uncertain due to prioritising and funding issues. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily part or whole sections of West Challow BOAT 10 (399/10); West Challow BOAT 13 (399/13); Letcombe Regis BOAT 3 (275/3); and Letcombe Bassett BOAT 6 (274/6).

Exemptions are included for emergency services, for Works and for pedestrian access to property which is only accessible from the closed sections of paths. There is no alternative off-road route.

With the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport the order will remain in force until 31 December 2025 or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. (Ref: T13822/AC)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Faringdon, Ferndale Street/Skinners Lane Prohibition of Through Traffic and One Way Suspension Date of Order: 14 October 2024 Coming into force: 21 October 2024 This Order is being introduced because of sewer repair works which are anticipated to be completed on 1 November 2024.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the section of Ferndale Street at its junction with Skinners Lane outside property number 21. Skinners Lane will temporarily become two way traffic to allow entrance and exit for residents during the closure. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route will be signed locally.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Various Roads, Faringdon) (Traffic Regulation) Order 1982 (as amended) specifying One Way Traffic will be temporarily suspended for Skinners Lane.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T14370/RAG)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Southmoor, Hanney Road 30mph Speed Limit Date of Order: 30 September 2024 Coming into force: 7 October 2024 This Order is being introduced because of construction of a new junction and associated works which are anticipated to be completed September 2026. This is a 24 hour speed limit restriction. The effect of the Order is to extend the 30mph speed limit southwards along Hanney Road to appoint north of Fyfield Wick Road. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when and where the measures are in force. The Oxfordshire County Council (Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor and Longworth Parishes) (Speed Limits) Order 2022 is amended to temporarily extend the length of the existing speed limit.

The council is satisfied that it is necessary for the order to be in place for more than 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T14633/AC)
