Definitive Map Modification Order (No 8) 2021

The above Order, made on 17th December 2021, was confirmed by an Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State on 11th September 2024, and will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by:-

Former Alnwick District

Byway Open to All Traffic No 35 (Parish of Harbottle)
Adding thereto a byway open to all traffic, from the U4019 road, 250 metres north of Sharperton Edge farm (O.S. Grid Ref NT 9706 0466), in a north-easterly then north-westerly direction for a distance of 790 metres along part of the U4029 road, to join alleged Byway Open to All Traffic No 22 in the Parish of Netherton, 740 metres south-west of Low Burradon (NT 9753 0511).

Adding thereto a byway open to all traffic, from alleged Byway Open to All Traffic No 35 in the Parish of Harbottle, 740 metres south-west of Low Burradon (O.S. Grid Ref NT 9753 0511), in a general north-easterly direction along part of the U4029 road for a distance of 1140 metres, to join the C179 road, 270 metres west of Burradon Hall (NT 9805 0600).

The Definitive Statements for these existing public rights of way will be amended to reflect the addition of the ‘new’ Byways Open to All Traffic Nos 35 & 22.

These details are shown on the Order map. A copy of the Order and the Order map may be seen free of charge at the Council Offices of the Lindisfarne Centre, Lindisfarne Road, Alnwick, NE66 2EF and at Main Reception at County Hall, Morpeth, NE61 2EF during normal working hours. Copies of the Order and map may be purchased. They can also be viewed on-line at https://www.northumberland.gov.uk/About/Maps/Public-rights-of-way.aspx#ordersandnotices.

The Order became operative on 11th September 2024 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provisions contained in it, on the grounds that any requirements of the Act or any regulation has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may within six weeks from 3rd October 2024 make an application to the High Court for that purpose.
