What is happening?

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER WORCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 & WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981. DIVERSION OF FOOTPATHS HR-526 AND HR-525 (PART), AND EXTINGUISHMENT OF FOOTPATH HR-524 (PART), (FORMERLY FOOTPATH NUMBER 13) IN THE PARISH OF HARTLEBURY.PUBLIC PATH DIVERSIONS, EXTINGUISHMENT AND DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2023

On 29 August 2024, Worcestershire County Council confirmed the above order made under Section 119 of HA1980, and Section 53A(2) of the WCA 81. The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert the footpath/s and modify the definitive map and statement for Worcestershire accordingly:

Divert FOOTPATH HR-526 from: The entire length and width of footpath HR-526 starting at Whitlenge Lane OSGR S085857176 proceeding Easterly (E) for 98 metres (m) to junction with HR-524 & HR-525 at S085947176. To: with a width of 2m to start on Whitlenge Lane at S085847178 then E 110m to S085957177.

Divert FOOTPATH HR-525 (part) from: The length and width of footpath HR-525, starting at the junction of HR-524 & HR-526 at S085947176, proceeding Southerly (S) 123m to S085947163, S 155m to. S085987148, SE 120m to SO86087142. To: with a width of 2m commencing at S085957177 proceeding E170m to S086127175, S 229m to S086127153, Westerly (W) 47m to SO86077153, S 5m to SO86077152 and across footbridge, SE 62m to S086117147, SW 58m to SO86087142.

Extinguish HR-524 (part) the entire length and width between S085957177 & S085947176 dist. of 16m. A copy of the order as confirmed and the order map may be seen free of charge at Kidderminster Library Market St, Kidderminster DY10 1AB during opening hours. The order comes into force as from 29 August 2024 but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act, has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 26 September 2024 make an application to the High Court.
