Essex - Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Traffic Restrictions

What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Brickhouse Road, Colne Engaine)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Brickhouse Road, Colne Engaine in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 800m north west of the junction with Green Farm Road for a distance of approximately 300m in a north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th October 2024 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30099522776 - UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Pebmarsh Road, The Green, Green Farm Road and vice versa (with access only into Brickhouse Road).

The Order will come into effect on 3rd October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Suspension of Weight Restriction)

Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of North End Road, Gestingthorpe in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Yeldham Road to its junction with Church Street a distance of approximately 1770m.

2. To temporarily introduce a 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.

3. To temporarily suspend the 7.5 Tonne weight restriction in that length of Station Road, Sible Hedingham from a point approximately 234m north east of its junction with Yeldham Road to its junction with Queen Street as detailed in the 'Essex County Council (Various Roads, Castle Hedingham and Sible Hedingham) (7.5 Tonne Environmental Weight Limit) Order 2016 for the duration of the above closure only.

"The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time" restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The closure/restriction and suspension are scheduled to commence on 9th October 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2370946 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restriction and suspension are required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Church Street, Audley End, Moat Street, Hedingham Road, Sudbury Road, Sudbury Hill, St James Street, Queen Street, Station Road, Yeldham Road, Crouch Green, Yeldham Road, Hedingham Road, Poole Street, High Street, Bridge Street, Leather Lane, Little Yeldham Road, School Road, North End Road, Hall Green, North End Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 19th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
