Temporary Road Closures Albert Bridge (Footway Closures)

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in conjunction with Wandsworth Borough Council has made an Order under The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 Schedule 1 - Section 14 (1) (A) and all other enabling powers prohibiting vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below. Where necessary to maintain access for residents and occupiers one way or two-way traffic working may be imposed on affected roads.

Footway Closed To Pedestrians For Highways Works.

Albert Bridge Footways are to be closed from the junction of Cheyne Walk and Chelsea Embankment on the north side of the river to the junction of Albert Bridge Road on the south side of the river. Pedestrians are to be diverted to the other footway to cross the bridge.

The Order will come into on Monday 7th October 2024 and under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act will continue in force until such time as all the works are completed.

Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers. Nothing in this Order shall apply to anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform or a traffic warden.

Nothing in this Order shall apply to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, or for the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency.
