Wiltshire - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Maintenance Works
What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) St Johns Street (Part), Devizes: from outside its property known as No.28 St Johns Street to outside its property known as No.19 St Johns Street to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out works to erect scaffolding to facilitate the Devizes Town Hall roof replacement and other associated works. Alternative route via St Johns Street (unaffected length). This Order will come into operation on 21 October 2024 and the closure will be required until 21 January 2025. B) Burdett Street (Part), Ramsbury: from its junction with Back Lane for a distance of approximately 50m in a southerly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out new connection and associated maintenance works. Alternative route via Burdett Street (unaffected length) – High Street – The Square – Back Lane and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 21 October 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 for 5 days. C) Kings Wall (Part), Malmesbury: from its junction with B4042 to its property known as No.07 Kings Wall to enable Wessex Water to carry out supply separation works and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 23 October 2024 and the closure will be required for 3 days. D) Hilldrop Lane (Part), Ramsbury: from its junction with Whites Hill to its junction with Langfields to enable Openreach to carry out access to underground chamber to clear network for silt and associated maintenance works. Alternative route via Hilldrop Lane (unaffected length) – Stock Lane – Whites Hill and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 October 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 21:00 and 06:00 for 1 night. For further information please contact Openreach.
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
E) C374 (Part), Royal Wootton Bassett: from its roundabout junction with its junction with Stoneover Lane to enable Vodafone to carry out works to access the telecoms antenna and other associated works. Alternative route via Stoneover Lane – Swindon Road – C374 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 04 October 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 23:59 for 1 night. F) C60 (Part), Etchilhampton and All Cannings: from its junction with C50 to its junction with C51 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overrun works to stabilise and improve the roadside verges following years of overwearing having taken place. Works will also involve other highway remedial works where necessary (patching, sign repairs etc). Alternative route via C51 – C8 – C50 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 30 September 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 until 11 October 2024. G) Cadley Road (Part), Collingbourne Ducis: from its junction with C21 for a distance of approximately 610m in a north westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole testing. Alternative route via Cadley Road (unaffected length) – A338 – A346 – C21 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 04 October 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. For further information please contact Openreach.
H) St Aldhelm Road, Malmesbury: from its junction with Alexander Road to its junction with Burnham Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out resurfacing works and associated works. Alternative route via Burnham Road – St Aldhelm Road – Foundry Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 03 October 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 until 11 October 2024. I) Burnham Road, Malmesbury: from its junction with St Aldhelm Road to its junction with Foundry Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out resurfacing works and road marking replacement works and other associated works. Alternative route via Horsefair – St Marys Street – Gloucester Road – Park Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 03 October 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 until 11 October 2024. J) A346 (Part), Burbage and Savernake: from its junction with Ram Alley Lane to its junction with C199 to enable Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd to carry out removal and rebuilding of pialism fencing and associated works. Alternative route A346 (unaffected length) – B3087 – A325 – B3052 – A346 (unaffected length) and vice versa. Alternative route HGV via A346 (unaffected length) – A338 – A342 – A361 – A4 – A346 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 30 September 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 21:00 and 06:00 until 05 October 2024. K) Dead Lane (Part), Brinkworth: from outside its property known as West End Farm for a distance of approximately 250m in a southerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole installation work and other associated works. Alternative route via Dead Lane (unaffected length) – B4042 – Stoppers Hill – Washpool – Braydonside – Sundays Hill – Dead Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 30 September 2024 and the closure will be required for 2 days. For further information please contact Openreach on 0800 023 2023.
L) C76 (Part), Minety: from its junction with C92 for a distance of approximately 75m in a north westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole installation work and other associated works. Alternative route via C76 (unaffected length) – C83 – C91 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 30 September 2024 and the closure will be required for 2 days. Orders A to L will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (NORTHERN WILTSHIRE) (OFF STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2022 (AMENDMENT NO.3) ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 the effect of which will be to amend The County of Wiltshire (Northern Wiltshire) (Off Street Parking Places) Order 2022 by introducing Activity Zone Car Park, Malmesbury to the Order, operating Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm 3 hours No return within 3 hours.
Deposit copies of the Orders, plans and Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the Orders may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge during normal office hours. Details of the proposed scheme may be seen at Malmesbury Library, 24 Cross Hayes, SN16 9BG during the hours of 2pm to 7pm Monday, 9.30am to 5pm Tuesday and Wednesday, 9.30am to 7pm Friday and 9.30am to 1pm Saturday until 21 October 2024.

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF MODIFICATION ORDER
WILTSHIRE COUNCIL SECTION 53 WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
THE DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE DEVIZES RURAL DISTRICT COUNCIL AREA DATED 1952 AS MODIFIED UNDER THE PROVISION OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL PARISH OF STERT 11 DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2024
On 13 September 2024 Wiltshire Council confirmed as made the above order. The effect of the order is to modify the definitive map and statement for the area by upgrading footpath Stert 11, (from its junction with Stert 6 and Potterne 38, leading in a generally northerly direction to its junction with Potterne 128) to bridleway status and recording its width as 4.5 metres, approximate length 190 metres. A copy of the order and map may be seen by appointment at Definitive Map and Highway Records, Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge, BA14 8JN, from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

The order becomes operative as from 13 September 2024, but if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question the validity on the ground that it is not within the powers of Section 53 or that the requirements of Schedule 15 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 have not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may within 42 days from 26 September 2024 make an application under paragraph 12 (1) of Schedule 15 of the 1981 Act, to the High Court.
