What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
DOVER AREA
Alkham Road, Temple Ewell, CT16 3AE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Alkham Road, Temple Ewell, on or after 27th October 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the railway bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Alkham Road, Alkham Valley Road, A260 Alkham Valley Road, A260 Canterbury Road, A260 Hill Road Dual Carriageway, B2011 Dover Hill, B2011 New Dover Road, B2011 Folkestone Road, A256 Priory Road, A256 High Street, A256 London Road, A256 Crabble Hill, A256 London Road and London Road.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via London Road, A256 London Road, A256 Crabble Hill, A25 Buckland Avenue, A256 Barton Avenue, A256 Frith Road, A256 Charlton Green, A256 Maison Dieu Road, Pencester Road, Biggin Street, Priory Street, B2011 Folkestone Road, B2011 New Dover Road, B2011 Dover Hill, A260 Hill Road Dual Carriageway, A260 Canterbury Road, A260 Alkham Valley Road, Alkham Valley Road and Alkham Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Biggin Street, Dover, CT16 1BY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Biggin Street, Dover, on or after 8th October 2024 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Stanleys Bar & Coffee Lounge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Market Square, King Street, Queen Street, A256 York Street and Worthington Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Cauldham Close, Capel Le Ferne, CT18 7ND (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cauldham Close, Capel Le Ferne, on or after 21st October 2024 for up to 11 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from number 30 to number 36, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Claremont Road, Deal, CT14 9UT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Claremont Road, Deal, on or after 21st October 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction of A258 London Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Claremont Road, Church Path, Grange Road, A258 London Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Cliffe Road, Kingsdown, CT14 8AQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cliffe Road, Kingsdown, on or after 7th October 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Hermitage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cliffe Road, Kingsdown Road, Granville Road, A258 Dover Road, Ringwould Road, The Rise, Upper Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Crockshard Hill, Wingham, CT3 1NY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Crockshard Hill, Wingham, on or after 7th October 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Crockshard Farmhouse, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Crockshard Hill, Goodnestone Road, Staple Road, B2046 High Street, B2046 Adisham Road, Crockshard Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Hearts Delight Lane, Wingham (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hearts Delight Lane, Wingham, on or after 7th October 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Preston Road and Wenderton Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hearts Delight Lane, Preston Road, Wenderton Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Homestead Lane, East Studdal, CT15 5BN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Homestead Lane, East Studdal, on or after 7th October 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 1 Meadow Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Homestead Lane, Roman Road, Strakers Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
North Street, Deal, CT14 6AF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of North Street, Deal, on or after 21st October 2024 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Sandown Road and Beach Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via North Street, Sandown Road, Hengist Road, The Marina, Beach Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Plucks Gutter, Stourmouth, CT3 1JB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Plucks Gutter, Stourmouth, on or after 7th October 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Gore Street and The Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Gore Street, A253 Canterbury Road, A299 Canterbury Road West, A299 Hengist Way, A256 Richborough Way, A256 Ramsgate Road, A256 Sandwich Bypass, A257 Ash Bypass, A257 Pedding Hill, A257 Roman Road, A257 Gobery Hill, Preston Hill, Preston Road, Preston Lane, The Street, Stourmouth Road, Preston Road, The Street, Plucks Gutter and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Statenborough Lane, Eastry, CT13 0DL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Statenborough Lane, Eastry, on or after 21st October 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Poison Cross House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Statenborough Lane, Sandwich Road, A256 Eastry Bypass, Dover Road, Lower Street, High Street, Woodnesborough Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Station Road, Walmer, CT14 9JN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Station Road, Walmer, on or after 23rd October 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Sydney Road and Court Road, between the hours of 23:00 and 05:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Station Road, Sydney Road, St Richards Road, Salisbury Road, Court Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Warren Lane, Alkham (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Warren Lane, Alkham, on or after 21st October 2024 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Chalksole Green Lane and Green Wood Slip, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Warren Lane, Chalksole Green Lane, Green Wood Slip and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Various Roads, Dover (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Various Roads, on or after 7th October 2024 for up to 92 days or until the works have been completed.
Works will be carried out with rolling restrictions, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Biggin Street will be closed between the junctions of Pencester Road and Priory Street.
Pencester Road will be closed between the junctions of Biggin Street and A256 Maison Dieu Road. The one-way Order will be suspended the entire length, to allow access.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A256 Maison Dieu Road, A256 Woolcomber Street, A20 Townwall Street, A256 York Street and Worthington Street.
Worthington Street will be closed between the junctions of A256 York Street and Biggin Street. The one- way Order will be suspended the entire length, to allow access.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A256 Priory Road, B2245 Ladywell, B2245 Park Place, B2245 Park Street, A256 Maison Dieu Road, Pencester Road and Biggin Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
