Ashford, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

ASHFORD AREA

A28 Ashford Road, Great Chart. (TEMPORARY 40 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow excavation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to impose a temporary mandatory speed restriction on part of A28 Ashford Road, Great Chart, from 21st October 2024, with estimated completion by 27th November 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The temporary mandatory 40 mph speed restriction on A28 Ashford Road, Great Chart will be imposed at the junction with Chilmington Green Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The restriction on A28 Ashford Road will be in conjunction with the multi-way temporary traffic signals placed at the junction with Chilmington Green Road.

 

Appledore Road & Beacon Oak Road, Tenterden.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow strengthening and resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Appledore Road & Beacon Oak Road, Tenterden, from 24th October 2024, with estimated completion by 29th October 2024, between the hours of 19.30 and 05.00, or until the works have been completed.

Appledore Road & Beacon Oak Road, Tenterden will be closed as follows:-

Phase 1 will be closed between the junction with A28 Ashford Road to the junction with East Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A28 Ashford Road, Oaks Road and East Hill.

The diversion route for Woodchurch Road is via B2067 Woodchurch Road, Brook Street, Appledore Road, Bench Hill, Woodchurch Road, School Road, B2080 Tenterden Road, Reading Street and Appledore Road.

Residents wishing to gain access to Craythorne, Roethorne Gardens or Green Hedges should wait at the end of Golden Square where they will be advised by Traffic Management operatives of the approved direction of travel.

Phase 2 will be closed between the junction with A28 Ashford Road to the junction with Shrubcote, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2067 Woodchurch Road, Brook Street, Appledore Road, Bench Hill, Woodchurch Road, School Road, B2080 Tenterden Road, Reading Street and Appledore Road

Residents wishing to gain access to the Shrubcote Estate, Limes Close and William Judge Close should follow diversion and access via ‘Appledore end’ of B2080 Appledore Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bears Lane, Bethersden.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bears Lane, Bethersden, on or after 7th October 2024, for up to 2 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the former Great Chart Golf Club, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Etchden Road, Worten Road, Godinton Lane, Water Fall Road, Park Drive, The Street and Bethersden Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Brisley Lane, Ruckinge.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow pole repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Brisley Lane, Ruckinge, from 21st October 2024, with estimated completion by 22nd October 2024, between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of ‘Woodside’, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Brisley Lane, Ashford Road, Stone Cross Road, Brisley Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Chilmington Green Lane, Great Chart.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Chilmington Green Lane, Great Chart, on or after 7th October 2024, with estimated completion by 1st November 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the entrance to Grange Court, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Chilmington Green Lane, Bartlets Lane and Chilmington Green Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Church Lane, Kenardington. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Lane, Kenardington, from 21st October 2024, with estimated completion by 22nd October 2024, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from approximately 350m North of the junction with Snargate Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Lane, Snargate Road, Kenardington Road, Appledore Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Church Road, Warehorne, TN26 2LH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Road, Warehorne, from 21st October 2024, with estimated completion by 22nd October 2024, between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of ‘Banbridge’, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Church Road, B2607 Warehorne Road, The Street, Marsh Road, A2070 Ashford Road, A2070 From J A2070/B2080 Roundabout To J A2042, A2070 From Ashford Road To District Boundary, A2070 Rhee Wall To Ashford Road, A259 J A2070/B2080 Roundabout, Rhee Wall Roundabout, B2080 Rhee Wall, Brenzett Corner Roundabout, B2080 Rhee Wall Road, Arrowhead Lane, Snargate Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Frogmore Lane, Bonnington.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Frogmore Lane, Bonnington, from 7th October 2024, with estimated completion by 1st November 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from 20m south of Saint Rumwold’s Church, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Frogmore Lane, B2067 Bonnington Road, Newchurch Road, Honey Wood Lane, Frogmore Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Front Road, Woodchurch, TN26 3SJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow utility and maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Front Road, Woodchurch, from 7th October 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.00 and 16.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with Lower Road and the junction with The Paddock, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Front Road, Lower Road, Place Lane, Spot House Lane, Shadoxhurst Road, Bethersden Road and Front Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Lodge Wood Drive, Ashford, TN25 4PZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow manhole frame and cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lodge Wood Drive, Ashford, from 23.00 hours on 22nd October 2024, with estimated completion by 06.00 hours on 23rd October 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the side of 1 Almond Close, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

New Barn Road, Hastingleigh. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of New Barn Road, Hastingleigh, from 21st October 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Cold Blow Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Wye Road, Coldharbour Lane, Amage Road, Brabourne Road, Pilgrims Way, New Barn Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

The Givaudan Ashford 10K Road Race.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow the Givaudan Ashford 10K road race to take place, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on various roads in Willesborough, Kennington & Ashford from 13th October 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.20 and 11.20, or until the event has been completed.

The following roads will be closed on a rolling basis as the race progresses, in approximate sequence shown below:-

A2070 Kennington Road, Willesborough will be closed for its entire length.

A2070 Willesborough Road, Kennington will be closed for its entire length.

A28 Canterbury Road, Kennington will be closed between the junctions with A2070 Willesborough Road and The Street.

The Street, Kennington will be closed for its entire length.

Ulley Road, Kennington will be closed between the junctions with The Street and Upper Vicarage Road.

Upper Vicarage Road, Ashford will be closed for its entire length.

A2042 Faversham Road, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with Upper Vicarage Road and A28 Canterbury Road, at Penlee Point.

A28 Canterbury Road, Kennington will be closed between the junctions with A2042 Faversham Road and A28 Simone Weil Avenue.

A2042 Canterbury Road, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with A28 Simone Weil Avenue and Hardinge Road.

A2042 North Street, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with Hardinge Road and A292 Somerset Road.

A292 Somerset Road, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with A2042 North Street and A292 Mace Lane.

A292 Mace Lane, Ashford will be closed for its entire length.

A292 Hythe Road, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with A292 Mace Lane and Lees Road.

Lees Road, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with A292 Hythe Road and Silver Hill Road

Lees Road, Willesborough will be closed for its entire length.

A2070 Kennington Road, Willesborough will be closed between the junctions with Silver Hill Road and A2070 Willesborough Road.

Marshalls will be in place to allow access for emergency service vehicles and to allow managed access to any residents affected when it is safe to do so, but there are likely to be delays and certain times when this is not possible for safety reasons.
