The Crescent, Temporary Road Closure Due To Resurfacing Works

Somerset Council Temporary Closure of The Crescent and Crescent Way, Taunton and Temporary One Way Order (northwards) of The Crescent, Taunton

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along The Crescent and Crescent Way: The Crescent - from the junction with Upper High Street to the junction with Park Street and Crescent Way - from the junction with The Crescent for its entirety. A total distance of 325 metres. This Order will enable Heidelberg on behalf of Somerset Highways to carry out prep and resurfacing works.

The Order becomes effective on 26th September 2024 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The prep works are expected to commence on 30th September 2024 and last until 18th October 2024 between the hours of 09.30 - 15.30hrs for a total of 19 days with a temporary one way Order on The Crescent (northwards from the junction with Upper High Street to the junction with Park Street). Crescent Way will have traffic lights. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs. The resurfacing works are expected to commence on 21st October 2024 and last until 25th October 2024 between the hours of 18.30 -23.30hrs for a total of 5 nights for a full closure.
