A696 COUNTY BOUNDARY TO PONTELAND ROAD PONTELAND
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the A696 County Boundary To Ponteland Road Ponteland from its junction with the B6545 to its junction with the C354 for a length of 532 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 10th October 2024 until the 22nd November 2024.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 17th October 2024 until the 1st November 2024 between the hours of 20:00 until 06:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 22nd November 2024.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the B6545, B6323, A69, A1, A696 and vice-versa.

The closure has been requested by National Highways to carry out re-surfacing works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
