What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U2258 Princes Road, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Princes Road – from the junction with U2190 Sovereign roundabout to the junction with U2193 Beatty Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2258 Princes Road – U2191 Ramsay Way – U2190 Prince William Parade and vice versa.

The Order commences 2 October 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs on 2 and 3 October 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2152 Ceylon Place, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as

amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Ceylon Place – from the junction with U2146 Cavendish Place to the junction with U2148 Bourne Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2146 Cavendish Place – U2144 Pevensey Road – U2148 Bourne Street and vice versa.

The Order commenced 29 January 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 30 September and 2 October 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C341 Wannock Lane, Lower Willingdon)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 No. 2

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Wannock Lane – from the junction with P8540 The Paragon to the junction with P8522 The Grove.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C341 Wannock Lane - U7732 Broad Road – U7933 Wannock Avenue – C341 Wannock Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 30 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 30 September and 7 October 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2253 Croxden Way, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Croxden Way – from the junction with U2248 Hazelwood Avenue to the junction with U2253 Welbeck Close.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2253 Croxden Way – U2248 Hazelwood Avenue and vice versa.

The Order commences 14 October 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 14 October 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A2021 Bedfordwell Road, Eastbourne) 

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow ES Pipelines Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Bedfordwell Road – from the junction with A2021 Lewes Road to the junction with U2128 Gorringe Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A2021 Bedfordwell Road, Whitley Road – A259 Seaside – A2290 Lottbridge Drove – A2280 Cross Levels Way – A2021 Kings Drive, Prideaux Road, Lewes Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 16 October 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 19.00hrs to 06.00hrs between 16 and 18 October 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.
